Arsenal's Invincibles: The five best goals from that amazing run

They weren't half bad, those Invincibles...

Former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke picks his five favourite Invincibles goals - it's all killer and no filler as you'd expect

5) Patrick Vieira v Leicester City
Highbury
15 May, 2004
The majesty of Dennis Bergkamp had to feature somewhere, and his pass for Patrick Vieira's winner in the 38th and final match of the unbeaten season was pure perfection. Patiently waiting for his skipper to make a sneaky run around the back of the Foxes defence, Arsenal's number one 10 slipped the ultimate slide-rule pass into Vieira, who rounded the keeper with aplomb. It was a delicious way to crown an unforgettable campaign.

4) Thierry Henry v Manchester City
Highbury
February 1, 2004
This is one of the finest 'thumpers' you could ever wish to see. On a wet and muddy afternoon at Highbury it wasn't easy to stay on your feet, let alone produce moments of magic, but Henry did just that when smashing home a laser-guided missile of a shot from the left wing. The ball whizzed past David James into the postage stamp before he'd even realised it was on its way.

3) Robert Pires v Liverpool
Anfield
4 October 2003
A hallmark of the Invincibles was their insatiable hunger to press opponents hard, before breaking fast on them to score a goal. This winner at Anfield from Robert Pires showcases just what they were all about. Harassing the home side deep inside their own territory, the Gunners won the ball back well, before handing it to the Frenchman to bend home a gorgeous right-footed beauty.

2) Thierry Henry v Liverpool
Highbury
April 9, 2004
You need to watch this goal, if only to see Henry tie Jamie Carragher into a double knot and put a bow on it. How the Reds defender shook off his dizziness to continue, I'll never know! In all seriousness this effort was an example of Arsenal's legendary number 14 at his very best, running rings around any Liverpool player that came near him, having collected the ball 45 yards out. It was the ultimate men against boys goal.

1) Robert Pires v Tottenham Hotspur
White Hart Lane
April 25, 2004
If ever a goal summed up Arsenal's Invincibles it's this effortlessly brilliant team goal in the north London derby. Toying with Spurs in the middle of the park, the passing and movement of Arsene Wenger's men is just too much to live with, and once inside the final third the Bergkamp-Cole-Pires triangle is on a different planet altogether. This goal secured the Premier League title, and because it was notched on enemy turf it has to be my favourite.
