Rambo to shoot Gunners to Belgian win
It's that time of the week where Paul Robinson selects a home win, an away win, a match to go over 2.5 goals and a match to go under 2.5 goals. Here are his selections...
Bet 1: Corinthians (HOME) @ 1.7 (7/10)
Corinthians may have dropped out of the title race - if there ever was one - but they are still right in the mix for a top three place and an automatic spot in next year's Copa Libertadores. They are currently fifth in the league - just two points off third - but even finishing fourth would put them in the qualifiers for South America's elite club competition.
Mano Menezes' lost their second home game of the season back in May but since then it's been seven wins and five draws. They've won their last two on home soil - including a victory over Sao Paulo - and they don't concede too many goals.
Opponents, Vitoria BA are fighting a relegation battle as with just nine games to go, they are only one place above the dreaded drop zone. They have shown a bit of improved form recently - seven points from a possible 12 - but on the road it's six defeats from seven for Ney Franco's men.
Bet 2: Arsenal (AWAY) @ 1.8 (4/5) - Live on Sky Sports 1 at 19:45 BST
Arsenal enter match day three of the Champions League needing to win. The Gunners did beat Galatasaray last time, but their results have been mixed of late and the fans are becoming a bit restless once again.
An away game in this competition is never easy, but a trip to Belgium shouldn't pose too many problems for a club that have won at Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Fenerbahce in the last year or so.
Anderlecht on the other hand haven't won a Champions League fixture since a 1-0 success over Zenit back in November 2012. Since then, they've played 10, drawn three and lost seven.
Besnik Hasi's side have also been struggling domestically of late as they come into this game having been held by Genk and Mechelen. That's not good form at all and with Aaron Ramsey back for Arsenal, they should have too much firepower for them.
Bet 3: Liverpool v Real Madrid (Over 2.5 goals) @ 1.6 (6/10) - Live on Sky Sports 5 at 19:45 BST
Liverpool somehow scraped past QPR on Sunday in a game that they didn't deserve to win. Once again the defence looked shaky, and even with the misfiring Mario Balotelli leading the line, The Reds still managed to net three goals.
Brendan Rodgers' men flopped to a 1-0 defeat in Basel in their last Champions League match and with a trip to the Bernabeu next, they really have to go for the victory this evening.
Real Madrid have shaken off a slowish start - by their own high standards - to their season and it's now seven wins in a row for the reigning champions of Europe.
Carlo Ancelotti's side racked up an incredible 32 goals during that period and despite the absence of Gareth Bale, they still have Benzema, Isco, Rodriguez, Hernandez and a certain Portuguese forward to score and create goals.
Bet 4: Criciuma v Atletico PR (Under 2.5 goals) @ 1.53 (8/15)
Criciuma are 19th of 20 in the Brazilian Campeonato after picking up just 30 points from their 29 fixtures this term. It's a tight division though and a couple of wins would shoot them right up the table.
The problem for 'Tiger' has been in front of goal as with just 21 scored, they are the league's lowest scorers. A total of 38 conceded at the other end gives their matches an average of 2.03 goals each time, with 21 of their 29 rewarding under 2.5 backers.
Atletico PR are having a pretty poor campaign themselves judged on last year's standards. Back to back victories has pushed them up to 10th in the table but they would have been hoping for better.
As far as the goals go, their matches this season are averaging 2.38 goals per 90 minutes, with 17 of their 29 finishing with two or fewer. Doriva's side haven't netted in any of their last five away from home, but they only conceded three on one occasion.
