Premier League on Betfair: 7/1 West Ham stun the champions

Diafra Sakho can't stop scoring for the Hammers

Mike Norman brings us the In-Play odds highlights from today's Premier League action as Manchester Ctiy lose at West Ham, Liverpool slip-up at home, and Southampton move to second in the table...

West Ham continued their excellent recent form with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Boleyn Ground in today's early kick-off.

Three league wins in four games had taken Sam Allardyce's men up to fourth in the table ahead of the visit of the champions, and they were soon on their way to win number four from five when Morgan Amalfitano stabbed the ball home from close range after 20 minutes.

The Frenchman was matched at 42.041/1 to score the first goal of the game, while the 1-0 Half Time Score was matched at 10.5n/a.

Vincent Kompany, already on a yellow card, was fortunate not to receive his marching orders for a second bookable offence before the Hammers extended their lead through Diafra Sakho - the striker's header meaning he has now scored in each of his last seven starts.

David Silva quickly reduced the arrears with a superb solo effort and despite the Citizens hitting the woodwork twice in the second half the home side hung on for a deserved win.

West Ham were matched at a high of 7.87/1 to win the game, while the 2-1 Correct Score was matched at 26.025/1.

Manchester City's defeat means that Chelsea - who play Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday - have shortened to 1.454/9 in the Premier League Winner market with Manuel Pellegrini's men now available at 5.24/1.

Elsewhere in the Premier League today Arsenal beat Sunderland 0-2 - matched at 11.5n/a - thanks to two errors by the Black Cats that led to a brace for Alexis Sanchez, but Liverpool's poor season continued with a goalless draw at home to Hull - the 0-0 Correct Score matched at 23.022/1 and the Draw at 5.95/1.

Southampton are up to second in the table thanks to a 1-0 win over Stoke at St Mary's. Sadio Mane - matched at 7.87/1 in the First Goalscorer market - scored the only goal of the game in the first half. The 1-0 Correct Score was matched at 8.07/1.

The most entertaining game of the day came at the Hawthorns as West Brom came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace - a scoreline that was matched at 24.023/1.

Brede Hangeland was matched at 48.047/1 to score the first goal of the game before putting the Eagles ahead, and those who backed the 0-2 Half Time Score at 38.037/1 were rewarded when Mile Jedinak converted from the penalty spot.

But back came Albion in the second half to record their second successive 2-2 home draw thanks to goals from Victor Anichebe and a late penalty from in-form striker Saido Berahino.
