Against All Odds: San Siro fixture to be full of goals

Rafa will have three points on his mind this evening

Two of the big boys in Italy meet this evening and Paul Robinson is predicting goals between Inter and Napoli.

Internazionale haven't exactly made a great start to their campaign as in Serie A, they've won two, drawn two and lost two of their six fixtures. Perhaps most worryingly for them, the losses came on their two most outings - a shocking 4-1 reverse at home to Cagliari and a not much better 3-0 drubbing in Florence.

The Black and Blues have had the two week international break to lick their wounds and Walter Mazzarri's side will be desperate to pick up a much needed victory. Scoring goals hasn't been too much of an issue as they've netted 11 in six, however it is worth noting that seven of those came in one game against Sassuolo. Tightening up at the back will be a priority for Mazzari, but even last year, they conceded an average of more than one per match.

Napoli haven't set the world alight this season either as they are only in sixth place with 10 points. Unlike their opponents though, they come into this game on the back of two successive victories. Sassuolo and Torino aren't among the better teams in the division, but following defeats against Chievo and Udinese, and a draw with Palermo, Rafa Benitez would have taken anything he could have got.

As far as the goals go, three of their half dozen this term have finished with over 2.5 goals landing, and that includes two of their last three. Last year their matches averaged 3.05 goals per 90 minutes, and while Gonzalo Higuain hasn't broken his duck yet, you don't become a bad player overnight.

This is a clash of two underperforming teams who could really do with winning. That will hopefully lead to goals and there are enough recent statistics to suggest that they will come. That's why, with under 2.5 goals trading at around the 1.910/11 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
