Betfair Live Video: Strong Vibe not enough against Malmo

Malm FF v IFK Gteborg
Sunday 16:30

Sunday afternoon and we head for Skane County to watch the biggest two teams in Sweden go head to head. IFK Goteborg make the trip South to Malmo to take on the champions.

Malmo have been in imperious form all season, coach Age Hareide navigated his young squad to the title last year and they seem to have only improved this season.

They have scored the most and conceded the least, they are unbeaten since early May in the Allsvenskan and sit six points clear at the summit.

However they suffered a huge blow recently when captain and star performer Guillermo Molins suffered a cruciate ligament injury and was ruled out for up to a year. His presence was expected to be hard to replace but in his absence a new hero has been born, or reborn at least.

The return of 'son of the city' Markus Rosenberg has certainly eased the pain of Molins' loss. Rosenberg has returned on top form, he has seven goals and ten assists from his sixteen games so far. On Thursday he scored the crucial goals that pushed his team passed Sparta Prague in the Champions League Qualifiers.

IFK Goteborg had less success in Europe this week, they disappointingly crashed out to Rio Ave. That made it five games in a row without a win, they need a result but couldn't face a tougher task this Sunday.

Of their eight away trips in the Allsvenskan this season they have only lost once but it's not as good as it sounds, six of those were draws.

Coach Mikael Stahre will have to get his team playing a lot better if they are to even equal last year's third place finish but he does have at his disposal seemingly the most dangerous player in the league.

Lasse Vibe has been virtually unplayable this season, the Danish striker is averaging just shy of a goal a game and will be their main threat when they head to the Swedbank Stadium in Malmo on Sunday.

Classy Malmo should be the more confident and having won the last three head to heads over IFK expect the same again.

Zulte Waregem v Club Brugge KV
Sunday 19:00

Sunday's early evening game sees the cameras focus on the Belgian Jupiler League as Zulte Waregem welcome Club Brugge to West Flanders.

Zulte or 'Essevee' as they are affectionately known have been a surprise success story in Belgium over the last few seasons, challenging for the title despite limited resources.

Coach Francky Dury has worked wonders and they have been particularly impressive at the Regenboogstadion. They finished fourth last year which was another impressive effort but this time it's hard to see them keeping with the pace for so long.

The traditional giants of Belgian football seem to be improving and Essevee have lost a lot of last year's top performers. Dury hasn't had a lot of funds to invest and he has focused on youth once again.

After the huge success of Thorgan Hazard who moved on to the Bundesliga younger brother Kylian Hazard has joined the squad and will attempt to replicate what his older brothers are doing in the bigger European leagues.

Dury has also brought in Chuks Aneke after his release from Arsenal and he will hope that these young signings can prosper in this season's side.

It's been one win and one loss so far for Zulte in the league but they have already suffered huge disappointment in Europe losing out to unfancied Belarusian team Shakhter Soligorsk, they will be hoping to get back on track at home on Sunday.

Club Brugge enter this match having made a very convincing start, they won their first two league games. Add to that two more wins in Europe against Brondby and they have started the campaign with four straight victories and are yet to conceded a goal. They mean business this year.

Highly rated Australian goalkeeper Matt Ryan is supported by a rock solid defence and going forward the talents of Lior Refaelov, Maxime Lestienne and Tom de Sutter will pose a threat to any defence.

The Regenboogstadion is a challenging venue for any team and Zulte should be able to hold off their opponents enough to at least claim a point in this one.
