Balotelli's move to Liverpool is set to be completed on Tuesday
Angel di Maria and Mario Balotelli are both big names and big transfer stories but what about the likes of Stefan Scepovic? Alex Johnson rounds up the latest.
Manchester United will break the British transfer record by signing Angel di Maria for 64million, according to widespread reports.
Sky Sports have claimed the Argentine forward will fly into Manchester today, Monday, to complete a deal and it is understood United have agreed a fee with Di Maria's current club Real Madrid.
Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti had been keen to keep hold of Di Maria but he has now confirmed he expects the former Benfica forward to move on.
"Di Maria has not trained with us today yesterdayn/a and he came in to say goodbye to the players and people at the club," said Ancelotti. "There is nothing official yet but it is being sorted out. The decision is his and the club has done what it could to keep him here."
Meanwhile, newly promoted Burnley have lost both of their Premier League games to date this term but boss Sean Dyche has confirmed he intends to strengthen further in the current transfer window.
Dyche told the Lancashire Telegraph he will not be able to spend 10million-plus on a target but the club are keen to "flex our improved financial muscle accordingly", while the same paper has claimed reports linking the Clarets with Bolton midfielder Mark Davies are wide of the mark.
Liverpool are set to complete the capture of former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli in a 16million deal from AC Milan on Monday according to ESPN.
The Reds have been seeking a replacement for Luis Suarez throughout the summer and it seems as if Italian international Balotelli is on the verge of a move to Anfield after "persuading manager Brendan Rodgers that he is the right man to bolster their attack".
Liverpool had also been linked with a move for Monaco's Radamel Falcao but Balotelli's imminent arrival could end any interest they have in the Colombian.
The Daily Star have quoted the striker as saying he is happy at Monaco and they also suggest Italian giants Juventus are pondering a loan move for the former Atletico Madrid man.
Swansea have been handed a transfer boost, according to French paper L'Equipe, in their bid to sign Montpellier's Benjamin Stambouli.
Marseille have also been tracking the defensive midfielder but the report claims the player's father does not want him to join the French giants as he was fired by L'OM last summer.
Celtic are closing in on the capture of Serbian striker Stefan Scepovic, according to the Daily Record.
They claim the 3million-rated hitman has asked to train alone as negotiations progress between the Scottish champions and Spanish outfit Sporting Gijon, and a deal is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
