Former Arsenal star linked with Everton switch - Transfer Rumours

Alex Song is being linked with Everton loan

Alex Song has disappeared off the football radar switch leaving north London for the bright lights of Barcelona but as Alex Johnson reports, he may be on his way back to the Premier League.

The Daily Telegraph are reporting Everton could be set to land Barcelona midfielder Alex Song on a season-long loan deal.

Cameroon international Song has struggled to secure a regular place in the first-team at the Nou Camp and the Toffees are hoping they can do another loan deal with the Blaugrana, having had Gerard Deulofeu for the Catalan outfit last season. Manager Roberto Martinez is keen to bolster his options in the middle of the park and it appears the former Gunners' star Song fits the bill.

Reports from Germany suggest that Bayern Munch have pulled out of the race to sign Roma defender Mehdi Benatia, which will give hope to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in landing the Moroccan.

Roma are thought to be desperate to keep hold of one of their prized assets, but a 25m bid from one of the Premier League giants could be enough to secure his services.

Meanwhile Spanish champions Atletico Madrid are in the hunt for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to the Daily Mail.

A potential move for the Danish international would depend on whether the club lose centre-back Diego Godin, who is on Bayern's radar. Napoli are also believed to be considering a bid for Agger, who has found himself down the pecking order at Anfield having struggled with injuries over recent seasons.

Moving to news from Yorkshire and the Daily Mirror claims Hull City manager Steve Bruce is looking to sign Cameroon international forward Vincent Aboubakar. Bruce is believed to have missed out on securing a deal for Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.

Reports in The Sun are suggesting Norwich City are in the hunt for Stoke City striker Cameron Jerome, as the Canaries look to make a swift return back to the Premier League. The paper also suggests Norwich are also looking at strengthening their defence, with experienced centre-back Carlos Cuellar being strongly linked with a move to Carrow Road.

Finally Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata could be set for a move to the Netherlands, with Anderlecht being strongly connected with the 23-year-old. Opportunities could be limited for Boyata at the Emirates this term and a loan deal to Anderlecht could be on the cards, according to the Daily Star.
