United to splash ВЈ100million for Angel di Maria? - Transfer Rumours

Is Angel di Maria a 100million man?

When I woke up and saw this story my head shook in disbelief. Angel di Maria is good but is he 100 million good? That and more as Alex Johnson rounds up the Monday morning transfer gossip.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Manchester United are set to offer Real Madrid a 100m package to sign winger Angel Di Maria.

The Argentine has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu throughout the summer and it is believed a deal which involves an up-front fee of around 50m would be enough to persuade Los Blancos to sell.

Staying with the Red Devils and the Daily Express say they've now turned their attentions to Roma's Kevin Strootman, after missing out on Arturo Vidal of Juventus.

The Dutchman has worked with Louis van Gaal at international level, although he could cost the Premiership outfit a substantial amount after Giallorossi boss Rudi Garcia recently suggested it would take 80m to sign him.

The Daily Mirror say that Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Chilean striker Eduardo Vargas, although the Metro is suggesting they could miss out on Shaktar Donetsk's Douglas Costa after the Ukrainian club put a 40m valuation on his head.

Some Tottenham news and the Express is reporting that Spurs are set to reject a 10m bid from Southampton for Andros Townsend, who is also attracting interest from QPR. Meanwhile, Lewis Holtby is also thought to be interesting Crystal Palace.

Moving down the league and Sky Sports say West Ham could make a move for Marseille winger Morgan Amalfitano, who spent last term on loan at West Brom.

The Frenchman is thought to have fallen out with new coach Marcelo Bielsa, with a season-long loan switch to Upton Park thought to be likely.

Some other news that could concern the Hammers and QPR boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he is looking to add to his midfield ranks before the end of the window, with a possible move for out-of-favour Ravel Morrison.

The former Manchester United man spent time at Loftus Road last season and according to BT Sport, a return to the R's is on the cards.

Moving abroad and Marca say Luis Enrique is keen to add to his Barcelona squad before the end of the summer, despite already signing six new players, while in contrast his Real Madrid rival Carlo Ancelotti insists he has already concluded his business.

L'Equipe are reporting that Bayern Munich are eyeing moves for either Roma defender Mehdi Benatia or Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin, as Pep Guardiola looks to bolster his defence.

Finally, Le Figaro have revealed that Chelsea will turn to Roma's Mattia Destro, should Fernando Torres find a move away during the current transfer window.
