The Big Wednesday Multiple: Dnipro to split Croatian defence

Dnipro should find this tie relatively easy

It was another success for Paul Robinson last Wednesday and that now means that this feature has had three winners in the last five weeks. Here are today's selections...

Bet 1: Dnipro (HOME) @ 1.44 (4/9)

Dnipro will be disappointed to be back in the Europa League after exiting in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. Nevertheless, they will still take this competition seriously as they've performed well in it in recent seasons and have an outside chance of glory.

This is the first leg of their play-off tie with Hadjuk Split this evening and with it coming on home soil, I expect them to build a lead to take to Croatia. Myron Markevych's side have an excellent record in front of their own fans and that includes victories over Spurs, Napoli and PSV within the last couple of years.

Their opponents, Hadjuk Split, exited in the qualifying rounds of this tournament last season and I fully expect them to miss out on the group stage once again. They just don't have the quality of their Ukrainian counterparts and their away results don't make great reading - most of which came against weaker teams than this.

Bet 2: Hearts (AWAY) @ 1.83 (5/6)

Hearts are in a re-building phase following their off the field problems that contributed greatly to their relegation from the Scottish Premiership last season. They've made a fantastic start to life in the second tier as they've taken maximum points from two outings and they came against their two biggest rivals - Rangers and Hibs.

The victory over Rangers came at Ibrox so a trip to the Almondvale Stadium should hold no fears for Robbie Neilson's men. Even when relegated last year, they won plenty of games on the road and assuming they are taking this competition seriously - I have no reason to believe they aren't - they should run out comfortable winners.

A quick word on Livingston though and after losing their opening match of the campaign at Hibernian, they beat Cowdenbeath at home on Saturday. Their overall record at home isn't much to crow about however as since the start of last season, John McGlynn's side have lost eight of 20 games in all competitions.

Bet 3: Santos v Atletico PR (Over 2.5 goals) @ 2.1 (11/10)

Santos had made a relatively solid start to their campaign in Brazil as after 10 fixtures they'd lost just once - albeit five of them being draws. The wheels have started to fall off in recent weeks though as they've lost four of their last five - the sole bright spot being a 3-0 success over Chapecoense.

As far as the goals go, two of their last four have gone over 2.5 and while only a couple of their games at home have had three goals or more this term, this selection is more about their opponents.

Atletico PR have scored 23 goals this season and conceded 20 to give their matches an average of 2.87 goals each time - the third highest in the entire division. Eight of their 15 have gone over 2.5 and that includes two of their last four.

Interestingly though, if we concentrate on their scorelines away from home, Doriva's side have scored 11 and conceded 11 to give their fixtures an average of 3.14 goals per 90 minutes. Five of the seven have had three goals or more and every single one has ended with both teams scoring.

Bet 4: Bahia v Criciuma (Under 2.5 goals) @ 1.5 (1/2)

Bahia have been revitalised under new manager, Charles Fabian, as since his arrival he's led the club to two wins and two draws. That might not sound overly impressive but they beat Corinthians during that period and prior to that they had lost seven out of nine, only managing draws in the other two.

All four of his games in charge have finished with under 2.5 goals - with two going under 1.5. Their last half dozen in front of their own fans have ended with two goals or less and they've kept two clean sheets in their two most recent home fixtures.

Criciuma are down in 15th place after 15 matches and that is exactly where they finished last term. After a relatively solid start to the campaign, the Santa Catarina based club have taken just two points from a possible 15 of late.

As far as the goals go, Wagner Lopes' side have had four of their last five go under 2.5 and if we concentrate on their results on the road, we can see that six of their last seven have gone under 2.5 - including their most recent five.
