Champions League Tipsheet: Maribor to trouble stuttering Celtic

Will Ronny oversee a home win or can Maribor trouble Celtic again?

There are five Champions League qualifying games to be played on Tuesday night. Joe Dyer has picked out his best bets and he fancies an entertaining game at Parkhead.

Apoel v AAB (1-1)
The home team don't need to win on Tuesday night but they should do so all the same. Opponents AaB have a solitary league win to their name this season and couldn't do the business in front of their own fans in the first leg, seeing Apoel's Brazilian midfielder Vinicius negate Nikolaj Thomsen's opener to hand the advantage to the Cypriot side. Apoel are on a four game unbeaten streak and should underline their superiority in the second leg to reach the Champions League group stages for the third time.

Back Apoel to win @ 1.8810/11

Celtic v Maribor (1-1)
Celtic's stuttering season continued on Saturday when they were defeated at Inverness Caledonian Thistle. That result was excusable perhaps as manager Ronny Deila had rung the changes, presumably with this match in mind. But defeats don't help fragile confidence and Maribor should make for a tricky night in Glasgow. Celtic's away goal means the Slovenian side have to score and they should be able to do that against a defence that has only one clean sheet from its last six matches. In what should be one of the most open games of the qualifying rounds both teams to score looks a decent shout at evens.
Recommended Bet
Back both teams to score @ 2.01/1

Porto v Lille (1-0)
The Portuguese side have one foot in the group stages following last week's 1-0 win in France and it's very hard to see them slipping up on Tuesday night. Both Superliga games have been won and they haven't conceded in all three competitive fixtures this season. Lille bring good domestic form - they sit in third place after two wins and a draw - and like their opponents are yet to concede a league goal. It all points to a tight game but we fancy Porto to contain their opponents - the 0-0 halftime score looks a solid wager at around 2.89/5.
Recommended Bet
Back 0-0 halftime score @ 2.89/5
