Rumours: RvP wanted by Fenerbache, Lamps set for City stay

Frank Lampard could stay at City all season long

Frank Lampard could stay at the Etihad all season according to reports today. That and all the other transfer gossip is rounded up here.

According to the Daily Express, Manchester City will be allowed to keep midfielder Frank Lampard until the end of the current campaign.

The former Chelsea star was expected to return to New York City FC in January after agreeing to join the MLS side in the summer. Lampard moved to the Etihad Stadium with a hope of getting some first-team football before his move to the States, but he has played a key role so far this year. New York City FC is owned by Manchester City chief Sheikh Mansour and it is believed that Lampard will now stay put and earn 190,000 a week.

Elsewhere, Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is wanted by Fenerbahce according to the Daily Star. Reports suggest that the Turkish outfit want to sign the Dutchman in January, but United are expected to reject any bid. However, his long-term future is in doubt due to niggling injuries and a lack of form. The former Arsenal striker has failed to deliver since Sir Alex Ferguson left Old Trafford in 2013.

The Daily Mirror believe Inter Milan are looking to make a bid for out of favour Liverpool striker Fabio Borini. The Italian was wanted by Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers in the summer but he rejected both moves and decided to stay on Merseyside. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has only handed the forward five appearances so far this season and Inter are considering a bid. The San Siro outfit are expected to bid below Sunderland's 14million agreed fee, but they are confident their history could tempt Borini into moving to the Serie A.

Manchester City are reportedly ready to challenge Bayern Munich in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus.

The Daily Mail claim that the Germany international Marco Reus is wanted by the Citizens who are looking to bolster their squad after falling behind Chelsea in the Premier League title race. Reus has a 19.5million release clause in his contract and he could be tempted to leave after Jurgen Klopp's side's terrible start to the season. Dortmund sit second bottom of the Bundesliga and Reus will once again be at the forefront of speculation in the January window.

Meanwhile Hibernian want to keep Everton youngster Matthew Kennedy according to The Herald. Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs, has confirmed he wants to keep the winger in his squad after the 20-year-old impressed during his loan spell.
