Oostende vs Standard
Sunday 13:30
First up action from Belgium's Jupiler league as a reinvigorated Standard Liege head to West Flanders to take on Oostende.
Oostende have struggled to make much progress this season and currently occupy eleventh place in the league just four points above the relegation zone.
Having lost three from their last four coach Frederik Vanderbiest needs to see an improvement from his team however there has been little home comfort from matches at their Albertpark stadium. They have only managed two league wins there all season so far.
Despite their poor form their strike pair of Sebastiene Siani and Elimane Coulibaly have looked dangerous this season and will provide the main threat for the home side.
Visitors Standard who finished the season with the most points after the regular season last year started this season disappointingly. The pressure grew so much that their home games were being played in a hostile environment and on November the 5th manager Guy Luzon stood down to be replaced by caretaker Ivan Vukomanovic.
Since that change Standard have found a new lease of life and gone on to win four straight games without even conceding. They're now up to fifth spot, just six points off the top and with a game in hand.
Because of the uncomfortable atmosphere at their home games earlier in the season the 'Rouches' away form is actually better than their home record having won five of eight on the road where they are under less pressure from their ever expectant fans.
Up top De Camargo will lead the line and he is always a handful but the two players to look out for are the dangerous midfield duo of Geoffrey Mujangi Bia and Paul-Jose M'Poku.
With Standard on a roll and Oostende's home record expect an away win.
Recommended Bets:
Standard to win @ 2.0811/10
Cruzeiro vs Goias
Sunday 19:00
All eyes are on Cruzeiro as they go in search of the win that would confirm their second straight Campeonato title.
The 'Raposa' have been the standout team in Brazil once again this year. After a strong start to the season they built a healthy lead but then suffered a nervous wobble that encouraged their title rivals and a few weeks ago it looked as though they may have blown it. But coach Marcelo Oliviera managed to get his team back on track and they now look certain to retain their title.
After two huge away wins that has put them seven points clear of Sao Paulo with three games to play Cruzeiro return home this Sunday to Belo Horizonte with their fans ready to party.
They may already have one eye on the second leg of the cup final which is next Thursday but I expect them to still field their strongest line-up. Moreno returns from international duty and the likes of other key players Ribeiro and Goulart are likely to start.
They very rarely lose at the Mineirao Stadium and having won their last six matches against Goias they have little to fear.
After finishing sixth last year Goias have made little headway this season, just like last year their form has petered out towards the end of the campaign and they have lost their last two 1-0.
They have now failed to score in ten of their last thirteen away games and only won one of those.
This Sunday they will be without Dede and that won't help theIr cause, I hold out little hope for Goias in this one but it's worth keeping an eye on Erik, their twenty year old striker who has been making a name for himself.
Cruzeiro will want to seal the deal in front of their home fans and get ready for the streets of Belo Horizonte to be awash with the blue of the Raposa as they celebrate another championship on Sunday.
Recommended bets:
Back Cruzeiro to win @ 1.364/11
Back Cruzeiro to win to nil @ 2.0421/20
