Rumours: Lloris wanted by Real Madrid

Hugo Lloris is wanted by Real Madrid according to reports

Several rumours as per usual today and the headline is Hugo Lloris is wanted by Real Madrid. Alex Johnson rounds up the tabloid talk.

Real Madrid have reportedly turned their attention to Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris as a long-term replacement for Iker Casillas.

According to the Daily Express, the European champions are said to be keen on signing the Spurs vice-captain after some impressive performances for the Premier League outfit.

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is hoping to take advantage of a poor start to the campaign for Tottenham which has seen the club slip to 12th in the English top-flight.

There are rumours of un-rest within the Spurs camp and Mauricio Pochettino could face a big challenge to hold onto one of his most prized assets come January.

The news has come as a bonus to Manchester United though as the Lloris reports look to have ended any interest the Spanish giants were showing in David de Gea.

Moving over to Tottenham's rivals Arsenal now and the Daily Star are reporting that the Gunners are the latest club to be keeping tabs on Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons.

The 19-year-old has impressed for the Magpies this season and caught the eye after scoring in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City in the League Cup recently.

Aarons has already been capped for the England U-20s and there are a number of top European clubs that are looking to tempt Newcastle owner Mike Ashley with a sizeable offer when the January transfer window opens.

A story from the Manchester Evening News now and Man City are reportedly tracking Juventus' Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner and the Citizens could let 21-year-old Matija Nastasic go the opposite way.

The defending Premier League champions have made a stuttering start in their title defence and manager Manuel Pellegrini is looking to open the cheque book in January.

Lichtsteiner has been in fantastic form for The Old Lady this season but, the defender is yet to agree a new deal with the club, leaving questions marks over the Swiss stars future.

And finally, Glen Johnson is reportedly set to walk out on Liverpool at the end of the season on a free transfer after being offered a new two-year deal worth only half of his current 120,000-a-week contract.

According to the Daily Mirror, the defender is ready to leave Anfield and there have been rumours linking Roma with a move for the England international.

Johnson has come under huge criticism for his performance for the Reds this season and a move abroad, where he could join up with fellow countryman Ashley Cole, seems a strong possibility.
