Consecutive wins have taken Burnley off the bottom of the table. Joe Dyer reports on their latest victory and the rest of the results on what was a dramatic day in the top flight... 

Burnley have come alive! Winless for the first 10 games of the Premier League season Sean Dyche's team have now put together consecutive victories following a 2-1 defeat of Stoke today. 

A quickfire Danny Ings double before 13 minutes shot the Premier League newcomers into the lead and, although Stoke pulled one back before the break, Mark Hughes' men were unable to make the breakthrough. 

Dyche's men are out to 1.42/5 from a low of 1.141/7 in the Relegation market thanks to their timely win with QPR losing at Newcastle and Leicester's game with Sunderland ending 0-0. QPR trade at 2.0621/20 for the drop while the Foxes are 3.211/5

In the late kick-off, Manchester United defeated old foes Arsenal at The Emirates to leap into the top four. After a goalless first half the game exploded into life when Kieron Gibbs pull the ball in his own net following a collision with Wojciech Szczesny. United picked up a second goal when scoring from a break after intense pressure from the home side.
Olivier Giroud came on late in the second half and offered his team a lifeline with an injury time goal but they couldn't find a second. The 2-1 final score was backed at 38.037/1. 

At the top of the table it was a stress free day for Chelsea who got the job done very early at Stamford Bridge. The Blues did everything they needed to secure a win before the half hour was up.

Spanish summer signing Diego Costa struck his 11th of the season to put his team ahead and then saw Eden Hazard double the advantage on 25 minutes. Once West Brom's Claudio Yacob was sent off four minutes later it was a case of job done. Chelsea are now 1.2 1/5 to win the league with just 12 games gone. 

Manchester City flirted with another defeat but ultimately had enough to get past tricky opposition in the shape of Garry  Monk's Swansea. 

Wilfried Bony has taken a while to get going this season but he is in good nick now and the Ivorian scored his fifth of the campaign to put the champions on the back foot early on. Bony was backed at 11.010/1 to score. Goals from Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure ensured City - backed at 2.111/10 for the win - took all three points. 

Everton's Top Four aspirations are very much alive following a 2-1 home defeat of West Ham. The two teams traded goals early on but veteran midfielder Leon Osman scored on his 400th appearance for the Toffees to seal the win. 

Given their early season struggles, it is perhaps surprising to see Newcastle occupying fifth spot. The Toon's 1-0 win over QPR was their fifth straight victory and Alan Pardew's men are level on points with United but behind on goal difference.
