PSG want to lure Angel di Maria away from Manchester
Angel di Maria only arrived at Old Trafford at the end of the summer but the French giants want to lure him away according to a report today. Alex Johnson rounds up this and other transfer rumours.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has poured cold water on any chance of the Blues signing Marco Reus in the January window.
The Borussia Dortmund star has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over recent weeks, as Chelsea look to bolster their strength in depth in a bid to pull further away for their other Premier League title contenders.
However, speaking ahead of Chelsea's clash with Schalke in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Mourinho was unwilling to suggest Reus was a target of his and was not going to disrespect Dortmund by talking about one of their stars, who at present is out of action with an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, The Daily Star is suggesting Manchester United playmaker Angel Di Maria is a transfer target for Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
A move for the South American in January would be remarkable considering he only joined United from La Liga giants Real Madrid over the summer but the paper suggests that if they can get round the Financial Fair Play rulings, PSG will try and lure Di Maria to the French capital.
Moving on to news from across Manchester, and City midfielder Samir Nasri has warned the club could be set to lose some of its superstars if they don't improve their efforts in the Champions League.
The Citizens are staring down the barrel of elimination in the group stages of the competition if they don't get wins in their last two games against Bayern Munich and Roma.
City have struggled to achieve the same success in Europe as they have done in the Premier League over recent campaigns and Nasri is concerned the squad's stars, like Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure, will look to move on to pastures new in the summer if their fortunes in the Champions League don't change.
Both Aguero and Toure have two Premier League titles under their belts but will be looking for success in Europe's premier club competition and, if they can't achieve success at the Etihad Stadium, they might well look elsewhere.
Finally, Eidur Gudjohnsen could be set for a return to English football with one of his former clubs at Bolton.
The 36-year-old is currently a free agent and is hoping to impress Trotters boss Neil Lennon in a trial game this week, in a bid to earn a short-term deal at the Macron Stadium.
