Cross-Sport Multiple: Back the draw in Vienna

Fabio will settle for a point in Austria

Andrew Hughes thinks Russia and Austria will play out a draw in Vienna and help to land another Saturday cross-sport multiple.

Bet 1: Back Austria to draw with Russia at 3.211/5

Three games into Group G of the European Championship Qualifying round and both Russia and Austria are undefeated. Neither will want to risk losing too much ground in what is shaping up to be a tight group, and a cagey draw is likely to be the result.

With some easier home games to come next year, Russian boss Fabio Capello will probably be happy with a point from this fixture. His side put four past Liechenstein, but that is not particularly impressive and their other two matches have both been 1-1 draws, against Sweden and Moldova. Austria have kept things even tighter, netting four times and conceding twice in their three games so far. This looks like being a low-scoring affair and a draw is the safe bet.

Bet 2: Back England to beat South Africa at 1.728/11

South Africa travelled to the northern hemisphere full of confidence after ending the All Blacks unbeaten run during the Rugby Championship, but they were outplayed and out-thought by Ireland last weekend, for whom Johnny Sexton was in imperious form, putting on a superb display of tactical kicking.

The Springboks have built their recent form on an expansive game-plan and they struggled to adapt to the wet conditions in Dublin.

We can expect a more traditional South African approach on Saturday but that won't worry England. Stuart Lancaster's side will relish a forward battle and will be eager to prove themselves against southern hemisphere opposition following their latest defeat to New Zealand. Back England to edge it.

Bet 3: Back Stephen Bunting to beat Mervyn King at 1.331/3

The penultimate quarter-final of the Grand Slam of Darts is between two players at opposite ends of their careers who have only met once before.

That encounter came ten years ago, when Mervyn King beat a teenage Stephen Bunting 3-0 at the Winmau World Masters, but a decade on, the edge is with the younger man and he's a solid bet to make the last four.

Since switching to the PDC in January, Bunting has been thriving, and has already beaten Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and James Wade this year. He beat Wade again in the last sixteen at Wolverhampton, after cruising through his Group and in his current form, should be able to see off King's challenge.
