Cross-Sport Multiple: Back City to sink United

Back City to rule on their own turf

Andrew Hughes thinks City will win the Manchester derby and help to land another Sunday cross-sport multiple.

Bet 1: Back Manchester City to beat Manchester United at 1.9520/21

After successive defeats against West Ham and Newcastle, Manchester City can get back to winning ways on Sunday against their deadliest rivals.

These sides have kept just four clean sheets between them this season so we should be in for an entertaining match, but I think City have the edge. Although they will be missing David Silva, they have plenty of attacking options, and the return of Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta will restore the leadership they were missing midweek.

With Wayne Rooney back in the team, United can give the City defence plenty to think about, but they are vulnerable at the back and are likely to concede as many as they score. City have won five of their last six meetings and they are a solid bet to make it six from seven on Sunday.

Bet 2: Back India to beat Sri Lanka at 1.574/7

When the West Indies tour of India ended in shambles, Sri Lanka's board no doubt earned plenty of credit with the BCCI for offering their team as a replacement, but they've done their players no favours.

A tour of India, even for their near neighbours, is one of cricket's toughest assignments and the Sri Lankans have had very little time to prepare. They were thrashed pretty convincingly in their only warm-up game and go into Sunday's opener badly short of practice. Back India to record a straightforward victory.

Bet 3: Back Saracens to beat Harlequins at 1.364/11

Saracens have already thrashed Harlequins 39-0 at the Stoop in the Aviva Premiership, so Quins will be up for revenge when they meet again in Sunday's LV Cup clash. But I can't see them getting anything out of this game.

Neither team will be at full strength for this game, but Saracens have the greater strength in depth. They will draw heavily from the Saracens Storm team that is currently unbeaten in the A League, and should be too strong for a Harlequins reserve line-up. Back the home side for victory.
