Transfer Rumours: Are Chelsea in for Raheem Sterling?

Is Jose Mourinho interested in Raheem Sterling?

Raheem Sterling is starting to really rack up the column inches and in one of the newspapers today, he's finding himself being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is attracting interest from title rivals Chelsea, according to a report in the Express.

The British paper claims that the Blues are lining up a sensational 48million bid for the England international as they look to tempt him away from Anfield. Sterling's reputation has grown after impressing in the Premier League last season and also catching the eye at the World Cup in Brazil over the summer. The 19-year-old and his current club are currently negotiating over a new contract, but it is understood that both parties are far from close to agreeing on a deal. Chelsea may face competition should they choose to make an approach with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also keeping tabs on his progress.

Staying on Merseyside and the Daily Star has claimed that Liverpool are looking to take advantage of Victor Valdes' situation as they aim to bring in some extra competition for regular number one Simon Mignolet. Valdes has been a free agent since the end of last term when he was released from his contract by Barcelona. The Spaniard is currently working his way back to full fitness after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee at the end of last season. The 32-year-old is currently unattached to any club and could therefore agree to join Liverpool outside of the transfer window.

The Express has reported that Inter Milan are preparing a bid as they look to offer an escape route to Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado. The Spain international has struggled to find his feet in English football since joining from Valencia and Inter will look to hand him a lifeline, although his wages may be a stumbling block. Soldado currently earns 60,000-a-week at White Hart Lane and the Italian giants are unprepared to match it. The 29 year-old has netted just six times in 38 league appearances for Spurs and may now have to decide whether he wants to take a pay cut in order to re-launch his career.

West Brom have been given the green light to go ahead and make a move for out-of-favour Porto defender Rolando when the January transfer window opens, according to the Mirror. The 29-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular spot with the Portuguese outfit and was last term loaned out to Inter Milan having previously spent time on loan with Napoli. The Baggies, Inter and Galatasaray have all made enquiries about the defender and have been informed that he will be available in January.
