Euro 2016 Qualifying Tips: Three potential profit makers for Monday night's football

Will it be more of the same for Italy under Antonio Conte?

The Euro 2016 qualifiers keep on trucking with another nine matches in-play tonight. Joe Dyer frisks the fixtures for value bets and pulls out the following three recommendations...

Malta v Italy

These two have met twice before and Italy won 2-0 on both occasions. That is the obvious starting point when looking at what on paper looks to be a qualifying mismatch.

In fact let's keep this very simple. Malta rarely score but are rarely battered by teams - since beating Faroe Islands 3-2 in November 2013 they've lost their last five 2-0, 1-0, 1-0, 2-0 and 3-0. That's a reliable set of scores for you.

Italy should be able to hold them at arm's length while securing the points they need. Dutching 2-0 and 3-0 looks a sensisble play. You should be able to get matched at a little more than 6.05/1 on each, giving combined odds of a touch over 3.02/1

Back Italy to win 2-0 and 3-0 @ 6.05/1 or better

Norway v Bulgaria

Norway are not a great team and we can't let an opportunity to oppose them at shortish prices get past us.

Ranked 30 places ahead of Monday's opponents Bulgaria are comfortably better than the Norwegians. Both teams are lodged on three points after a victory and a defeat in the opening games and it's only goal difference that keeps the home side ahead of Bulgaria in Group H, but the Scandinavians hold that advantage thanks to a 3-0 defeat of whipping boys Malta.

Bulgaria were defeated 1-0 by classy Croatia last time out but it was close and the eastern Europeans could well spring a surprise. It's a shame there's no liquidity in the Double Chance market, so we'll take a chance on Bulgaria Draw No Bet @ 2.68/5 or better.

Wales v Cyprus

Are Cyprus being given enough respect ahead of Monday night's game at Cardiff Arms Park? The odds suggest they're no-hopers, priced at 10.09/1 for victory. But this is a team that was good enough to beat Bosnia on the road in the opening round of Group B games so value hunters might want to have a nibble at those big odds.

The option that appeals to us however is a back of Both Teams To Score at a decent odds-against price of 2.447/5.

Yes, Wales drew 0-0 at home to Bosnia on Friday night, but that might actually aid us in our hunt for a winner on Monday night. The table-topping Welsh will not want to add another stalemate to their total and will view this as a must-win if they are to make it to Euro 2016. And to do that they must score of course.

But Cyprus are not pushovers, they managed to score twice in Bosnia and were also on the mark when going down at home to Israel on Friday night. They were hopeless in qualifying for Brazil 2014 but the appointment of Pambos Christodoulou earlier this year has changed the Cypriot approach and the shackles are off. With three points of their own in Group B Cyprus' qualification ambitions are still alive and they won't go to Wales on a damage limitation exercise.

Back Both Teams To Score @ 2.447/5
