Against All Odds: Copa Argentina clash to produce the goods

River Plate have a history of fine strikers

It's the quarter finals of the Copa Argentina tonight and Paul Robinson is predicting at least three goals when River Plate entertain Rosario Central...

River Plate v Rosario Central
Friday October 10, 00:10 BST

River Plate are top of the Argentinian Primera League and are still unbeaten after 10 matches. The defending champions are having another magnificent campaign but they must feel a slight bit of regret for not being able to beat 10 man Boca Juniors at the weekend.

'Los Millonarios' required penalties in the least two rounds of this competition but now we're down to the last eight, I expect them to step it up a gear. As far as the goals go, while only two of their last five at home have gone over 2.5, the three that missed out only did so by a single goal. It's also worth noting that Marcelo Gallardo's side have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four outings.

Rosario Central have struggled a bit of late after making a bright start to the season. Following a defeat at home to Lanus on Monday, it's now just four points from a possible 15 for Miguel Angel Russo's men.

The goal statistics make positive reading for this selection as with 14 scored and 16 conceded, their league matches this term are averaging exactly three goals each time. Half a dozen of their 10 have had three or more and their five most recent scorelines on the road are 1-2, 1-3, 4-1, 3-0 and 2-0.

Similarly to yesterday's winning bet, I would price this up at around even money in terms of over and under 2.5 goals. That's why, with under 2.5 trading at around the 1.574/7 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.

Recommended Bet
Lay Under 2.5 goals in River Plate v Rosario Central @ 1.574/7
