Norwich can earn a point on Sunday
Andrew Hughes thinks Norwich can earn a point in Wolverhampton and help land another Sunday cross-sport multiple in the process.
Bet 1: Back Norwich to draw with Wolves at 3.412/5
Wolves were comfortable winners of League One last season, but they shouldn't have been there in the first place. Their financial resources dwarfed those of their competitors in the third tier and they had the reliable Kenny Jackett at the helm.
Punters should be wary of assuming they are going to make a big impact in the Championship, at least in the first half of the season. This is a young, inexperienced side most of whom have yet to prove themselves at this level.
Norwich may have slipped back to the Championship, but they still have a Premier League set-up and will be determined to bounce back as quickly as possible. They haven't lost any of their last five against Wolves and can bag a draw on Sunday.
Bet 2: Back Essex to beat Derbyshire at 1.538/15
Derbyshire began their Royal London Cup campaign with victories over Hampshire and Leicestershire, but normal service was resumed last time out against Lancashire, and I expect them to pick up another defeat on Sunday.
Essex are without Ravi Bopara, but can still call on the big hitting of Jesse Ryder and Ryan ten Doeschate and have plenty of limited overs experience in their side. Marcus North has replaced Shivnarine Chanderpaul in the Derbyshire squad, but they look a weaker side without the gritty West Indian batsman and I think Essex are the better side. Back the visitors to grab the win.
Bet 3: Back Castleford to beat Widnes at 1.444/9
After finishing tenth in Super League last year, Widnes have continued their steady improvement in 2014. They're eighth in the table, fighting hard to hold onto the last play-off spot and on Sunday have a chance to reach the Challenge Cup Final.
But they have a tough assignment against this season's form team. Castleford finished twelfth last year, but have surged into play-off contention this year. They currently lie fourth in their table and are unbeaten in six.
Castleford have won both of their Super League games against Widnes this year, including a 40-20 win just over a month ago, and although they will be missing winger Justin Carney and forward Weller Hauraki on Sunday, I think they will once again be too strong for the Vikings.
