Rumours: Schurrle out, Reus in at Stamford Bridge?

Andre Schurrle could be a make-weight in a deal for Marco Reus

Plenty of rumours floating about today including could Andre Schurrle be on his way out of Stamford Bridge?

The Daily Express are reporting that Chelsea will use Andre Schurrle as bait to try and sign Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus.

Reus is currently seen as one of Europe's hottest properties, with Arsenal and Liverpool also interested in trying to sign him in January, while Dortmund's bitter rivals Bayern Munich are another team thought to be keen.

However, the Blues have now entered the race for the 25-year-old and are hoping that offering his German international team-mate Schurrle will help persuade Die Borussen to part with their best player.

The Metro say Chelsea are also considering a bid for CSKA Moscow's in form striker Seydou Doumbia, who netted twice against Manchester City on Wednesday in the Champions League.

Ivory Coast international Doumbia is believed to be available for around 15million, although once again Liverpool are expected to rival the West Londoners for his signature.

The Daily Express say Mats Hummels has poured cold water on a potential move to Manchester United by saying that Arsenal would be his preferred destination.

Like Reus, Hummels is another star who has been regularly linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund, with United reportedly seeing him as the man to plug the gaps in their leaky defence but he has now revealed that he would rather switch to the Emirates Stadium.

It means Red Devils could switch their attentions to Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte, with a deal which would see them sign the Frenchman in January but immediately loan him back to the San Mames on the cards, courtesy of the Metro.

Moving down the table and Crystal Palace will look to Celtic captain Scott Brown to help them in their battle against relegation.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock is thought to be looking for some extra steel in his midfield and the Scotsman are suggesting a bid of around 5million will be enough to tempt him south of the border.

However, the Daily Mail say Palace are also worried about the possibility of having to sell defenders Joel Ward and Damien Delaney in the near future, with neither having signed extensions to their contracts which are due to run out at the end of the season.

Finally and Arsenal have secured the services of David Beckham's oldest son Brooklyn on a short-term deal, although Chelsea and Manchester United are also thought to be keeping an eye on him should it not work out at the Gunners, according to the Daily Star.
