Rumours: Arsenal set to sign everyone - apparently

Arsene Wenger is set to splash the cash in January according to reports

Plenty of rumours today and most of them circle around the Emirates and Old Trafford.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be given 20m in January to try and save the Gunners' season, with a new defender his priority.

The north London outfit slipped 12 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea on Sunday after throwing away a one-goal lead at Swansea and questions have been asked of Wenger in the wake of this latest setback.

Arsenal look set to keep faith with the French coach and are prepared to give him a sizeable budget in the winter window to try and set things right, with one of Virgil van Dijk, Ron Vlaar and Chris Smalling tipped to move to the Emirates Stadium by the Mirror.

Meanwhile, The Sun are reporting that Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus will turn down a move to Arsenal over fears he will not win enough silverware.

The Germany forward has been linked with a plethora of clubs in his home country and abroad, with the Gunners said to be prepared to offer 20m for the 25-year-old.

However, with Arsenal out of the running, the fight for Reus appears to be between Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Finally on the Arsenal front, the Daily Express claims Wenger is ready to pay 30m to bring Barcelona duo Dani Alves and Pedro to London.

Pedro is eager to leave the Nou Camp having slipped down the pecking order, while Alves is set to run down his contract with Barca, who are therefore ready to sell in January rather than lose him for nothing.

Meanwhile, the Metro are reporting that Manchester United have joined the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The France international has failed to settle in Paris since moving back to his homeland from Newcastle in January. United are now ready to offer him a way out but reportedly face competition from Arsenal and Liverpool.

United look all but certain to make one new addition to their squad in January as they are poised to offer former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes a contract.

The Spanish shot stopper has been training with the Red Devils recently following a serious knee injury and has done enough to be handed a short-term deal, according to the Daily Express.

Finally, West Brom are set to open contract talks with star striker Saido Berahino in the hope of warding off interested parties.

Berahino, who was recently called up to the England squad for the first time, has scored eight times in 13 appearances this season, resulting in Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United taking an interest.

However, the Daily Express say talks have begun with the 21-year-old over a new contract that would see him extend his stay at the Hawthorns.
