Against All Odds: Daggers to cut open The Wombles

Paul Robinson makes a rare trip to England's League Two this afternoon as he thinks that Dagenham can avoid defeat AFC Wimbledon.

It's now six matches without a win in all competitions for AFC Wimbledon and that has seen them drop to 17th in the division. In the league they have been beaten at Wycombe and Northampton, and been held by both Plymouth and Tranmere at home. The Dons failed to score in three of those fixtures and they couldn't even beat the struggling York City in the FA Cup.

Neal Ardley will be pleased to have his side back at Kingsmeadow today as they are unbeaten in five in front of their own fans. The last two were draws though and prior to the streak they are on, they had taken just one point from a possible nine at home this term.

Opponents, Dagenham and Redbridge, are struggling a bit themselves of late and they haven't recorded a victory in any of their last five outings. It is worth noting however that their three defeats came against the clubs who are currently second, third and ninth in League Two, and while they could only draw with the non-league Southport in the FA Cup, they did manage to hold top of the table Wycombe.

The Daggers have a pretty decent record on the road as away from Victoria Park, Wayne Burnett's men have lost just two of their last seven. That includes victories at Hartlepool and Accrington, and in their half a dozen meetings with Wimbledon over the last three years, they have only been beaten once.

The visitors could well spring a surprise here, so with the hosts trading at around the 1.910/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
