The Goalscorer Gamble: Ulloa will punish struggling Burnley

Can Leonardo Ulloa carry on his scoring streak when Leicester face Burnley?

When you've become alarmingly used to only getting one out of your five tips right each week, then getting two correct is like being left money by a dead relative that you didn't know was alive in the first place.

Last week both Graziano Pelle and Carlos Tevez delivered at odds of 2.35/4. If on-target first goalscorer pick Cristiano Ronaldo had scored ten minutes earlier, then we would have been in serious profit.

As it is, the search to bump up the family Christmas fund goes on. We start in the Premier League with a player who let us down last weekend. Leonardo Ulloa was one of our first goalscorer picks but failed to get on the target as Leicester were defeated by Crystal Palace.

Yet Ulloa's record this season suggests that we should keep the faith. He's scored five already, with four of them coming against the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Manchester United. This weekend he faces the Premier League's bottom club Burnley.

After a run of defensive solidity, Burnley conceded four last week against West Brom and should let in more against a Leicester side that have lost just one of their last 18 home games and scored in every match. Back Ulloa to add to that tally at likely odds of 2.75n/a.

Another in-form Premier League striker is Manchester City's Sergio Aguero. The Argentine has scored five in all competitions and is deadly on the road, with a record of ten goals in his last 12 league away games.

This weekend they travel to an Aston Villa side that like Burnley, have recently seen their fine defensive record slip. Villa have conceded three goals in both of their last two matches against Arsenal and then Chelsea. With Manchester City now providing the opposition in a nightmare run, a clean sheet is a tall order. Take a chance on Aguero opening the scoring at a price of 5.14/1.

Staying in England, we move down to the Championship for a player that delivered regularly for us last season. Stevie May scored 27 goals in 49 games for St Johnstone last season, as the Saints lifted the Scottish Cup.

That took his tally to 76 goals in 137 games in Scotland, earning the 21-year old a move to Sheffield Wednesday. Since moving down south, the goals have continued to flow for May, who has so far scored three in seven appearances for Wednesday.

Today May appears in a Yorkshire derby as his side travel to Leeds. The striker always rose to the big occasion for St Johnstone and at 3.55/2 it's worth backing him to weigh in with another goal.

May might have been the go-to-guy for this column last season, but this term that man is Carlos Tevez. He's repaid our faith in the last two weeks with crucial goals and Juventus will be relying upon the Argentine as they approach their top-of-the-table clash with Roma.

Roma have conceded in four of their five away games this season, while Juve have scored in all but one of their outings. Tevez has weighed in with seven goals in six games, so we'll keep the faith at likely odds of 6.05/1.

Finally we head to France for a game that until recently would have also been seen as a clash of the titans. Paris St-Germain host a Monaco side that have sold their best players and slipped into mid-table as a result. 

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic currently injured, Edison Cavani will move to centre stage. Despite having mainly played second fiddle to the Swede, Cavani has scored 29 goals in 51 games for PSG and should be backed at a generous price of 2.47/5 to add to his tally.
