Football Bet of the Day: A French Friday firecracker's on the cards

We're looking for a winner in France tonight

It's been a mixed week for Kevin Hatchard, but he's expecting a profitable and entertaining game in France's second division tonight.

Angers v Creteil

So Apollon Limassol weren't so plucky after all. The Cypriots were smashed 4-0 at Villarreal, who suddenly found their shooting boots and stymied our Asian Handicap bet. We're still in profit for the week, so let's push on and leave the whole sorry business at El Madrigal behind us.

We've been based in Iberia for the past couple of days, and we now make the short journey to France, as Angers take on Creteil in Ligue 2.

I commentated on Creteil for Betfair Live Video earlier this season, and while I was impressed by how speedy and slick some of their attacking play was, their defending left quite a lot to be desired. Indeed, were it not for one of the worst misses of the season (hang your head in shame, Anthony Le Tallec), Creteil would've lost the game I covered.

There's nice variation to the Creteil attack. Veteran striker Freddy Piquionne is still a threat in the air and can finish, Madagascar international Faneva Andriatsima has pace and clever movement, and Marcel Essombe is far from clinical but gets into good positions.

Creteil have the joint-best attack in the division (15 goals), but also have the second-worst defence (14 goals), so it won't surprise you to learn that eight of their nine league games have seen both teams feature on the scoresheet.

Angers are also in double figures in both the for and the against goal columns, having scored 12 and conceded 10. Stephane Moulin's side are struggling for consistency, having won three, drawn three and lost three so far this term. Five of their nine league outings have seen both teams score.

Both sides are capable of scoring, but are far from flawless defensively, so I'm happy to back
Yes in the Both Teams To Score market at 1.865/6.
