Euro 2016 Qualifying Tips: Chelsea hero to be outshone

Diego Costa has played six times for Spain without scoring

Michael Lintorn offers his best bets for Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifiers in Austria, Lithuania and Luxembourg...

Austria v Montenegro
Sunday, 17:00
Live on Sky Sports Red Button

Match Odds: Austria 1.9210/11, Montenegro 5.04/1, The Draw 3.55n/a

Both of these nations will have ambitions of qualification from Group G despite the presence of Russia and Sweden and both have emerged as two of three joint-pacesetters alongside Fabio Capello's men having taken four points from their opening two fixtures.

The concern for Montenegro though is that they have failed to fire outside of Podgorica in three attempts this year, none of them against elite opposition (Slovakia, Iran and Liechtenstein). Austria always score, doing so in all of their previous nine outings, and therefore have to be fancied at a shade under evens.

Recommended Bet: Back Austria to win @ 1.9210/11

Lithuania v Slovenia
Sunday, 19:45
Live on Sky Sports Red Button

Match Odds: Lithuania 3.7511/4, Slovenia 2.285/4, The Draw 3.39/4

Victories over San Marino and an Estonia side who have already taken three points off Slovenia have helped Lithuania emerge as surprise co-leaders with England in Group E. Two stats suggest that they have a decent chance of staying flawless: they have won three of their last four competitive home games, while Slovenia have lost four in six away, including both of their latest two.

However, we're sticking with the bet that delivered us a profit in Slovenia's previous clash against Switzerland and opposing both teams to score. There has been at least one clean sheet in each of the visitors' last 11 encounters, as well as all six showdowns to have taken place to date in Group E.

Recommended Bet: Back both teams to score? No @ 1.845/6

Luxembourg v Spain
Sunday, 19:45
Live on Sky Sports 5

Match Odds: Luxembourg 110.0109/1, Spain 1.061/18, The Draw 20.019/1

Spain are up to four defeats in their most recent six matches after another awkward evening for Iker Casillas saw them lose 1-2 in Slovakia on Thursday, yet they are overwhelming favourites to conquer a Luxembourg team who held Belarus and were seconds away from claiming a point in Macedonia.

One Spain player who is not only living up but probably exceeding expectations at the moment is Valencia forward Paco Alcacer who, unlike the still goalless Diego Costa, has instantly settled in the squad, netting on his past two international appearances as well as four in six for his club. Half of those strikes came by the 22nd minute.

Recommended Bet: Back Alcacer to score first @ 4.67/2
