Europa League Treble: Cup experts Rio Ave to triumph

Europa League newbies Rio Ave reached two cup finals last term

Rosenborg, Rio Ave and Shakhter Karagandy provide the key to Europa League third qualifying round second leg profit...

Rosenborg v Karabukspor
Thursday, 18:00
Back Rosenborg to win @ 1.9110/11

The first leg of this tie in the Turkish debutants' home finished goalless, yet that shouldn't dissuade you from backing Rosenborg to get things right in the return, as they have a habit of botching one half of a double header and mending the damage in the other.

In the last round, they were turned over 1-2 in Norway by Sligo Rovers before resolving that glitch with a 3-1 triumph in the away clash. That was the sixth time across their last eight European two-leggers that they had won at least one of the fixtures.

Hajduk Split v Shakhter Karagandy
Thursday, 18:30
Back over 2.5 goals @ 1.855/6

You might think that Shakhter Karagandy are only beloved because of their groovy name and the novelty factor of an unfancied Kazakhstani side challenging the established European order, but they offer so much more than that.

The fourth best team in Kazakhstan added Hajduk Split to a list of victims that includes BATE Borisov and Celtic with a 4-2 first-leg victory which, like so much of their continental back colleague, was heavy on the goals. Seven of their last nine preliminary round matches have delivered three or more.

Rio Ave v IFK Goteborg

Back Rio Ave to win @ 1.784/5

Rio Ave are new to the Europa League, but their aptitude for cup competition is already established following their unexpected appearances in last season's Taca de Portugal and Taca da Liga finals, where greedy champions Benfica cruelly denied them an actual trophy.

Coach Nuno was subsequently nabbed by Valencia, but Rio Ave have retained the majority of their 2013/14 starters and opened this campaign encouragingly with a 1-0 away win over this evening's opponents. After that result, the Swedish side have now won just one of their last nine European games.

A 10 treble provides a 46.10 profit if successful
