Argentina began the tournament as one of the favourites, however in each of their performances in Group F they never looked totally in control, despite odds of 1.033 to qualify – a huge implied probability of 96.81%
Bosnia-Herzegovina gave them a scare in their opening game when they pulled a goal back in the 85th minute to make it 2-1. Iran held their own against Argentina for 90 minutes until a moment of Messi magic gave them a late 1-0 win. In their final game they managed a 3-2 win against Nigeria, who twice pegged them back from losing positions.
