Rumours: Valdes in, De Gea out at Old Trafford?

Could David de Gea be Real Madrid bound?

Could Manchester United to set to see their #1 goalkeeper walk out the door? Alex Johnson rounds up the rumours from across the media this morning.

Victor Valdes will reportedly be drafted into Manchester United's first-team shortly after signing with David De Gea set to depart.

Goalkeeper Valdes was released by Barcelona at the end of last season but has been training with the Red Devils in the meantime as he looks to get back up to full match fitness following a spell on the treatment table.

Valdes is set to pen a deal with United and it was thought that the 32-year-old would play second fiddle to his compatriot. However, the Express understands that Real Madrid are looking to tempt De Gea into a switch.

De Gea is yet to pen a new deal at Old Trafford and will have just a year left on his existing deal come the end of the season, leaving United with some work to do in order to ensure they have cover.

Staying with the Old Trafford outfit and January target Ron Vlaar has admitted that he is in early talks with Aston Villa over extending his stay.

The Manchester Evening News understands that the Dutch World Cup star will ignore the advances of United in order to stay at Villa Park.

Manager Louis van Gaal has made no secret of his desire to sign another defender as the club remain light at the back due to a string of injuries but his hopes of securing his compatriot appear to be fading fast.

One man who is often linked with a move around every transfer window is Wesley Sneijder and once again he is being touted with an exit from Galatasaray.

Turkish media outlet Webdehaber has reported that the Holland international is growing frustrated over a lengthy pay dispute and has called on his agent Guido Albers to broker a move away.

Albers is understood to have already entered into talks with Juventus over the possibility of doing business in January but negotiations are thought to be in early stages.

Finally and Southampton defender Toby Alderweireld has revealed that he would be interested in turning his season-long loan spell into a permanent switch.

The Belgium international has told the Express that he is enjoying life in the Premier League and is happy to be getting a regular run in the side.

The 25-year-old made just 12 appearances for parent club Atletico Madrid last season but has established himself as a regular under Ronald Koeman, helping the Saints to climb to second in the league.

The St Mary's club are eager to keep Alderweireld and will reportedly open talks with Atletico in January.
