Rumours: Man City interested in German star

Marco Reus is a name on everyone's lips

Marco Reus has a release clause in his contract that has been widely reported and Manchester City are the latest club linked with trying to lure the German star.

German newspaper Bild says Manchester City have become the latest team to join the chase for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.

After missing the World Cup through injury, the 25-year-old has continued to impress since returning and has attracted interest from around Europe, with his release clause of around 20million making him even more desirable.

City are now believed to have spoken to Dortmund about a possible move, although Borussia's bitter rivals Bayern Munich remain the favourites to clinch a deal for him in the summer.

Moving on and Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is thought to be targeting a move for Dutch international defender Bruno Martins Indi.

The centre half only moved to Porto in the summer but after working with him at the World Cup, the Sun says Van Gaal has now identified him as a man who could potentially sure up the Red Devils' leaky defence.

Another defender who could be heading to Old Trafford is Gerard Pique, as he continues to struggle to command a regular place at Barcelona.

Pique spent his formative years with United and the Daily Mail say they are one of three Premier League clubs interested in him, with Chelsea and Arsenal also thought to be considering a potential deal.

Looking down the table and the Daily Star are reporting that Queens Park Rangers have been told that it will cost them 10million to sign Jermain Defoe in January.

The former England striker is currently playing in the MLS for Toronto but is thought to be eyeing a move back to England, although the Canadian club are understandably keen to keep him.

Swansea are looking to end the speculation surrounding Wilfried Bony by offering him a lucrative new contract according to Wales Online.

The Ivorian has been attracting heavy interest from a number of teams in recent months but the Swans are now confident they can settle his future, with their main motivation for a potential new agreement being to banish the striker's reported 19million release clause.

Finally and both Inter Milan and Juventus are thought to be considering making a bid for out of favour Tottenham defender Vlad Chiriches in the January transfer window.

After a bright start to life in north London following his summer 2013 move, the Romanian has struggled for regular football in recent months and now Sky Sport Italia say that he could be about to be given an exit route to either Milan or Turin.
