Betfair Live Video: Gremio to rule in Porto Alegre

Hernan Barcos will be the focal point of Gemio's attacks

Reuben Thomas previews a couple of crucial encounters available on Betfair Live Video this Sunday..

Gent vs Anderlecht
Sunday 13:30

The top two face off in Belgium this Sunday as champions Anderlecht make the short trip into East Flanders to take on second placed Gent.

Gent's new coach Hein Vanhaezebrouk has his side on a formidable run, they are unbeaten in nine and are now just a point off top spot. They have been performing well at home and the belief in the fans is growing, this weekend is a sell out at the Ghelamco Arena.

Laurent Depoitre was signed from Oostende in the summer and his career for 'The Buffalos' has started well with seven goals so far. He will be supported in attack by the dangerous Milicevic and Raman and those three will pose a real threat to the champions.

Anderlecht are in search of their fourth straight title, they continue to set the bar in Belgium. They will be in good spirits after earning an unlikely but deserved draw away to Arsenal after a spirited three goal come back.

Besnik Hasi's team have actually been in relatively poor form recently only winning one of their last eight in all competitions. However most of their woes have been at home and on their travels they have shown consistency, they are unbeaten on the road since April.

Anderlecht's head to head record against Gent reads as fourteen wins from their last seventeen encounters. The Arsenal result will have done them good despite the fatigue of the traveling. With the likes of Mitrovic, Suarez, Cyriac and Acheampong to choose from up front they are spoiled with riches and I expect them to stamp their authority on the league by beating their closest rival this Sunday.

Gremio vs Internacional
Sunday 19:00

Sunday night and a chance to witness arguably the most ferocious encounter in Brazil, the 'Gre-Nal' derby of Porto Alegre as Gremio host Internacional.

The streets will be awash with the fanatical supporters of these two teams on Sunday as they prepare for what is not only a fiercely contested local rivalry but also an important match in regards to qualifying for the Copa Libertadores with just five rounds to go in the Campeonato.

Big Phil's Gremio team sit in sixth spot but just two points below their rivals, they need a strong finish to the season. They look in good stead and with the support of the infamous 'Geral do Gremio' behind them they are a force to be reckoned with at home.

At the Arena do Gremio they are practically indestructible, they have won eight of their last ten and three straight without conceding.

They have the best defence in the league by a long way, they have kept clean sheets in seven Of their last eight at home and twenty of their games this season have ended with one goal or less.

What this means is they are not in need of a lot of firepower up top and apart from their talismanic Argentinean captain Hernan Barcos they have few regular scorers. However this week Scolari will have the likes of Ruiz, Riveros and Roberto all back from injury and they may pose more danger going forward than usual.

A surprisingly impressive season sees Internacional in third and now that the title looks out of their grasp they must focus on retaining one of the automatic Copa Libertadores qualification spots.

A run of three straight away defeats in the league looked to be derailing their season but a good win away to Santos last time out halted the slide and Abel Braga will be hoping for more of the same in the derby.

Captain Andres D'Alessandro remains the key figure, his trickery can open up most defences and he will play in support of new recruit Nilmar.

Internacional have a good recent record against their nemesis Gremio with three wins in a row however this weekend they are missing key men with injuries and suspensions and could come unstuck.

Recommended Bets:
Back Gremio to win @ 2.3611/8
Back Gremio to win to nil @ 3.55/2
