Monday Night Football Tips: Coventry to be kept quiet

The return to the Ricoh Arena hasn't fixed Coventry's problems

Michael Lintorn offers his best bets for televised ties Coventry v Swindon and Hamilton v Dundee United...

Coventry v Swindon
Monday, 19:45
Live on Sky Sports 1

Match Odds: Coventry 3.55/2, Swindon 2.285/4, The Draw 3.55/2

Coventry may be the more famous of these two clubs, but Swindon are having a significantly more successful season. The Robins are second in League One and will return to the top with a two-goal victory, whereas their hosts are 18th, four points clear of the relegation zone.

Swindon also produce their best form on the road. No team in the third tier have earned more away points than them and they have lost only once in 11 league games on their travels, winning seven of the latest ten. Coventry by contrast have won just once in eight league fixtures at the Ricoh Arena.

However, the biggest difference between the sides - and the area in which we will seek to profit - is chance conversion. Mark Cooper's men haven't fired a blank in 11 away league matches, striking 11 times across the most recent four, whereas the Sky Blues have notched once in six hours at home.

Recommended Bet: Back Swindon to keep a clean sheet @ 3.02/1

Hamilton v Dundee United
Monday, 19:45
Live on BT Sport 1

Match Odds: Hamilton 2.486/4, Dundee United 3.02/1, The Draw 3.65n/a

Hamilton are on course for their first top-four finish in the Scottish top-flight in 80 years, but a gigantic spanner has been hurled into the area labelled "the works" with Alex Neil, the player-manager who lifted them from the Championship to those heights, leaving them for Norwich.

St Johnstone have shown that it is possible to maintain progress even when a promising young coach is poached though, emerging as top-six regulars despite losing Owen Coyle (Burnley), Derek McInnes (Bristol City) and Steve Lomas (Millwall), with Tommy Wright the latest to thrive in their dugout.

Accies caretaker player-boss Martin Canning has been backed by Neil as a potential successor and faces a high-stakes opener. Three points will return them to third (level with Celtic in second), yet defeat will see Dundee United snatch fourth place off them.

It is difficult to make a call on either the outcome - Hamilton have great home form but haven't sunk these visitors at New Douglas Park in their past five tries - or the goal line - both teams have scored in only three of Hamilton's last 14 league games, whereas it is a regular feature for the Terrors.

Instead, a punt on Anthony Andreu to score is most enticing. The Frenchman has netted seven times in his last nine league appearances, firing at least once in each of his previous five home outings.

Recommended Bet: Back Andreu to score @ 3.259/4
