Will Riner Win Judo Heavyweight Gold? (Olympic Judo Betting)



London 2012 Olympic Judo betting sees Frenchman Teddy Riner  1.403* as the favourite to win the Heavyweight class. Former gold medal winner, Ilias Iliadis 3.140* tries to win the Men's Middleweight class again.
London 2012 Olympic Judo betting gets underway at the London 2012 Olympics on July 28th. In the Men’s Heavyweight class French athlete Teddy Riner 1.327* is the clear favourite for the event.
Riner finished third at the Beijing Olympics; and has gone on to win gold at the 2009, 2010 and 2011 World Championship, as well as gold at the 2011 European Championship. Riner has lost just two fights in the last four years, and is the first judoka to have won five world titles.
The Men’s Half-Heavyweight category features Maxim Rakov 2.920*, Henk Grol 4.350*, Takamasa Anai 5.210*.

Ilias Iliadis 3.140* is the obvious favourite for the Men’s Middleweight, the Greek previously won Gold at the 2004 Olympics in his home country.
It’s an even split between Jae-Bum Kim and Leandro Guilheiro for the Men’s Half-Middleweight, with both competitors priced at 3.920* each. Elnur Mammadu is also an option at 5.880*.
Men’s Lightweight sees Ki-Chun Wang 2.450* try to improve on his silver medal finish in 2008 by taking the top prize. Riki Nakaya 4.550* and Dex Elmont 5.170* will be his closest competitors.
Rishod Sobirov is the clear favourite for the Men’s Extra-Lightweight event at 1.351*. The Uzbekistani claimed bronze in 2008 and followed it up by emerging victorious at the 2010 and 2011 World Championships.
Tachimoto & Beijing Runner-Up Go For Gold
In the Women’s Heavyweight category Megumi Tachimoto is the huge favourite at 4.690*.
Marya Aguiar and Xiuli Yang are joint favourites for Women’s Half-Heavyweight at 4.550*, with their next nearest competitor Akari Ogata at 4.800*.
Lucie Decosse finished in second for the Women’s Middleweight in Beijing, she is favourite to claim gold this time around at 2.010*.
Women’s Half-Middleweight sees another set of joint favourites with Yoshie Ueno and Gevrise Emane both battling it out at 3.410* each.
Kaori Matsumoto 2.430* edges out Teima Monteiro 4.350* and Rafaela Silva 4.350* to be the favourite for the Women’s Lightweight.
Finally Women’s Extra-Lightweight has Tomoko Fukumi 2.110* just ahead of Haruna Asami 2.180*.
