Hatem Ben Arfa will look to unlock Villa's struggling defence
The Opta stats appear to point to trouble for Aston Villa and Manchester United this weekend...
Wigan v Stoke (Saturday, 15:00)
Wigan have lost none of the last six league meetings with Stoke (W2 D4 L0)
After losing to a rampant Chelsea side on the opening day, Wigan bounced back to silence an expectant St Mary's with a clinical 2-0 win over Southampton last Saturday. Visitors Stoke usually prove awkward customers for most teams in the top flight but not Roberto Martinez's men it would seem. The Latics won this fixture 2-0 in the latter part of last season and should be confident of repeating that success.

West Brom v Everton (Saturday, 15:00)
The Toffees are unbeaten in their last 11 Premier League matches
Everton are absolutely flying at the beginning of this season and travel to the Hawthorns after drilling a hapless Leyton Orient 5-0 in the Capital One Cup to make it nine goals scored with only one in reply thus far this season. However, in West Brom they come against a team also bang in form and yet to lose. This one promises to be one of the fixtures of the weekend, but Everton won both meetings in 2011/12 and should edge it again.

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sunday, 16:00)
The Magpies have won six and lost just one of their last 11 Premier League home games against Aston Villa
Aston Villa's woeful start to the season doesn't look as though it's going to get any easier as they travel to a ground bereft of recent happy memories. You have to go back to 2004/05 for a Villa win on Tyneside and just two seasons ago the Villans were on the end of a 6-0 smashing from the Magpies. Newcastle have won eight of their last 11 at the Sports Direct Arena, and four of their last five halves against Villa there.

Southampton v Manchester United (Sunday, 16:00, Sky Sports 1)
United have lost three of their last four Premier League away matches
After a shaky start against Everton, Manchester United picked themselves up to beat Fulham but again their defensive frailties were exposed as the Cottagers came close to levelling at the end. Traditionally, Premier League trips to Southampton have caused United problems too as - of the clubs that they have visited at least ten times - Sir Alex Ferguson's troops have only lost more games percentage wise at Arsenal and Chelsea (40%) than against the Saints (38%).
