Who Will Sail Into Golden Sunset? (Olympic Sailing Betting)



London 2012 Olympic Sailing betting sees 57 nations competing to win gold, with France, New Zealand, the USA and Great Britain as the only countries to have qualified for all events.
Australia are favourites to win the Men’s 470 race at 1.400* after winning the event at the 2011 Sailing World Championships, and picking up Olympic Gold back in Beijing in 2008. Great Britain, who finished runner-up at the Sailing World Championships, also came home with a silver medal in 2008 and are second favourites to do so again at 3.390*.
The Women’s 470 race sees Great Britain 3.390* as favourites despite finishing second to Spain 4.460* at the 2011 World Championships.
Slingsby & Bouwmeester Favourites For Laser
Tom Slingsby of Australia is favourite to win the Men’s Laser Event at 1.952*. He disappointed in 2008, however, finishing in 23rd place despite being ranked as number one. He's favourite status is in no doubt for London, however, as he won the Laser category at the World Championships. Marit Bouwmeester is the favourite to win the Women’s Laser Event at 3.390* after also triumphing at the World Championships.
Israel Going For RS:X Double
Israel are the favourites to win both the Men’s & Women’s category in the RS:X event. They stand at 3.770* to win the Men’s event after finishing in 3rd place in 2008. Poland are second favourites at 5.230* and finished in second place at the 2011 World Championships.

Israel are slightly bigger favourites to win the Women’s event at 3.010* after taking gold at the World Championships, while Spain 3.220* and Poland 3.850* are set to be their biggest threats.
Other Nations Favourites
Elsewhere Australia 2.360* are the favourites to win the 49er event, after finishing in both 1st and 2nd place at the World Championships.
USA are priced at 2.710* to win the Elliott category, and finished in 1st place at the World Championships.
The Finn category sees Great Britain as favourites to win at 1.952*. Finally, in the Star event Brazil 2.930* are favourites ahead of Germany 3.850* after they finished in 1st and 2nd place respectively at the World Championships.
