Dettori and Barzalona both take up rides for principal retainer Godolphin
Attention is firmly placed on this afternoon's card at Warwick as we look to land a Summer Bank Holiday Placepot...
14:10 - The opening handicap is one of the more competitive on the card, and with this in mind we kick-off with three selections. Prince of Passion has thrived since reverting to sprint distances, scoring twice on the all-weather this month. He looks capable of going close once again as he bids to land the hat-trick, as does the strong-travelling Art Form, who shaped better than the bare result over C&D last time Euroquip Boy also makes some appeal at the prices, his race sharpness no doubt improved by a pleasing return third at Leicester at the start of the month.
14:45 - An interesting race in which doubts surround the suitability of the trip for some of those towards the head of the market. Likely favourite Opt Out should be thereabouts under a penalty if able to confirm his Goodwood win on Friday, but it may be worth having a couple of bigger-priced selections on side should he fail to do so. Both Indian Affair, who has some fair placed efforts to his name considering his cheap purchase price, and Charlemagne Diva, who won a claimer in good style last time and should go well under a penalty, fit the bill.
15:20 - Cloudy Start looks worth giving another chance to in a race where several have questions to answer. The Oasis Dream gelding is 2 lb lower than when a below-par fifth back on turf last time, but he has generally performed with credit this term and should find today's contest easier. Astonished Harry is suggested as a saver given his improved form in recent weeks. Whilst this requires further improvement, he may have more to offer in first-time headgear.
15:55 - Market support for any of the newcomers would provide its own clue, but for Placepot purposes it looks worth concentrating on those with form in the book in division one of this seven-furlong maiden. The Godolphin pair of Tarbawi and Darkening look capable of continuing their stable's recent good form and get the nod.
16:30 - Again the caveat that money for any newcomers would look significant applies, but with more form on offer in division two of this split maiden it looks worth taking on the favourite Tamarkuz given his prohibitive price. Red Avenger and Epic Battle both shaped well on their respective debuts at Leicester/Newmarket, the former in particular really catching the eye under considerate handling, and should be up to making a place.
17:05 - Morache Music and Balducci look worth keeping on side in the final leg. The former wasn't disgraced in Group 3 company at Newbury last month and ought to be capable of making an impact in what is an easier contest, whilst the latter made a promising debut for David Simcock at Newmarket last time having spent the winter in Dubai and should go well again down in trip.
