The Championship Weekend Previews: Leeds to be too smart for Posh

Will Neil Warnock's Leeds win at Peterborough?
Mike Norman's belief that following newly-promoted clubs can prove profitable is serving him well so far, so Charlton and Sheff Wed are amongst this week's selection. But who is our man's best bet?
Charlton 2.3811/8 v Hull 3.412/5; The Draw 3.55/2
I mentioned last week that backing newly-promoted teams can be very profitable at the start of a season and Charlton certainly didn't let us down in midweek when landing our 3.02/1 best bet by beating Leicester City. I actually think this game will be tougher for the Addicks, but I'm not ready to desert them just yet.
Chris Powell's men were excellent when running away with the League One title last term and - as I suspected - they've brought that momentum to the start of their Championship campaign. To take four points from their opening two games - away to Birmingham and at home to Leicester - is a very good return.
Now Charlton face a Hull side whose manager Steve Bruce has declared himself very pleased with. The Tigers started the season with a 1-0 home win over Brighton before suffering a loss by the same scoreline to Blackburn in midweek. They certainly look well organised and hard to break down and it could be that a single goal decides the outcome of this fixture.
Under 2.5 Goals is just 1.774/5 to back however (Over 2.5 Goals - 2.226/5) so I'll take a chance that Charlton win again.
Recommended Bet: I fancy the Addicks to have a really good season so home form is going to be crucial. Back Charlton to beat Hull @ 2.3811/8
Peterborough 3.185/40 v Leeds 2.466/4; The Draw 3.55/2
Leeds have faced two strong Championship sides already this term, and they've acquitted themselves very well. They could (perhaps should) have taken more than the three points they currently have on the board.
Neil Warnock's men impressed defensively at home to Wolves last weekend and they led, and kept Blackpool at bay, for three quarters of the game in midweek. They'll have been hugely disappointed not to have come away from Bloomfield Road with at least a point but they are good enough, and playing well enough, to win at London Road.
Peterborough have started the season with two defeats, and perhaps worryingly, their free-scoring style of play (albeit whilst being defensively nave) appears to have deserted them as they managed just one goal and a handful of shots in those two games. Their defensive woes remain the same however and it's difficult to envisage Leeds not getting on the scoresheet a few times at least.
Recommended Bet: Last season this would have been an Over 3.5 Goals selection; this season Posh look poor, Leeds look good. Back Leeds to beat Peterborough @ 2.466/4 (Best Bet)
Sheffield Wednesday 2.1211/10 v Mill wall 3.9n/a; The Draw 4.67/2
Similar to Charlton, newly-promoted Sheff Wed have started the season in fine style, facing two tough opponents in Derby and Birmingham but coming away with a very acceptable four points. It's not rocket science, a club that was promoted the season before obviously has an excellent morale in the dressing room as well as a winning mentality. That can count for a lot at this level.
Millwall lost at home to Blackpool on the opening day of the season and I'm not convinced that their 2-1 victory away to Peterborough amounts to much in terms of proving how good they are. In fact I'm inclined to think that Posh are a poor outfit and Millwall will do well to finish around mid-table this term.
The Owls were extremely strong at Hillsborough last season, and with confidence in abundance running through the side I can't see them not winning.
Recommended Bet: Another promoted club, another side brimming with confidence. Get on. Back Sheff Wed to beat Millwall @ 2.1211/10
*Season P/L (1pt win each bet, 2pts Best Bet): + 0.72
