Cross-Sport Multiple: Back the draw at the City Ground

Stuart Pearce's methods have borne fruit for Forest

Andrew Hughes thinks Derby can earn a point against their East Midlands rivals ad help to land another cross-sport multiple in the process.

Bet 1: Back Nottingham Forest to draw with Derby County at 3.412/5

The shock of the last East Midlands derby, when Forest suffered a 5-0 humiliation at the hands of their bitter rivals is still felt in Nottingham and Stuart Pearce's side will be determined to earn revenge in Sunday's encounter.

They could not go into this game in better shape. Top of the Championship after five games, having dropped just two points along the way, and unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions this season, Forest are flying.

But beaten play-off finalists Derby have continued their good work under Steve McClaren this season and have only lost once so far. The Rams have only lost one of their last six against Forest and have returned victorious from two of their last three visits to the City Ground. This could be a classic derby game between two in-form sides and a hard-fought draw is the best bet.

Bet 2: Back Northampton to beat Wasps at 1.444/9

Wasps recruited heavily during the summer in a bid to improve on their seventh-placed finish last season, and they gave a good account of themselves in their opening Aviva Premiership game, losing 34-28 to Saracens.

But they may find things even harder against the reigning champions. After their thrilling Grand Final victory, Northampton haven't added to their squad, but they hardly needed to. They started the season in supreme form last week, dismantling Gloucester 53-6 and should be too strong for Wasps, a side they beat 74-13 the last time they met in May. Back the Saints for the win.

Bet 3: Back Wakefield to beat Hull KR at 1.42/5

The final game of the Super League regular season is a bit of an anticlimax, between two sides who have had mediocre seasons.

Victory for Rovers would enable them to finish above local rivals Hull FC, but victories have been hard to come by in recent weeks, in fact they've won just one of their last seven. Wakefield's recently record is slightly better. They thrashed Salford two weeks ago, then put up a creditable performance in a narrow loss to Castleford.

Rovers have won their last two meetings with the Wildcats, but both games were at home, and a more significant trend is that four of the last five editions of this fixture have been won by the home side. Back Wakefield to end with a win.
