Transfer Rumours: Stoke keen to agree new terms with Crouch

Peter Crouch may yet stay at Stoke

'Are we going to have a Cristiano Ronaldo transfer rumour every day until he finally leaves Real Madrid?' is a question I asked myself just now. The media do like a good rumour don't they? Yet more news on CR7 and other rumours per the media today.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has admitted a move for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is "possible".

The Portuguese striker has been strongly linked with a return to Old Trafford having been upset by Los Blancos selling the likes of Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria to Bayern Munich and United respectively.

Ronaldo has often admitted he would be willing to return to the Red Devils where he made his name under Sir Alex Ferguson. Van Gaal is a big admirer of Ronaldo but has questioned whether Real would be willing to sell their biggest asset any time soon.

Sticking with news from Old Trafford and the club are willing to allow Radamel Falcao to return to Monaco if he has any recurrence of his recent knee problems, according to reports. The Red Devils are looking to make the Colombian's loan move to Old Trafford permanent but won't risk spending big money should the South American struggle with any knee problems this season.

Moving on to the Championship and Wigan striker Marc-Antoine Fortune is believed to be a loan target for struggling Blackpool, according to the Daily Mirror. The Tangerines have found goals hard to come by this season and have picked up just two points from their first eight games of the season. Manager Jose Riga is thought to have highlighted Fortune as a potential target and will push to get a loan deal over the line in the emergency window.

At Middlesbrough, loan striker Patrick Bamford says he would be happy to extend his short-term deal at the Riverside until the end of the Championship season. The highly-rated forward bagged his first Boro goal in their 4-0 win over Brentford on Saturday and has settled in well in the North East. Parent club Chelsea are unlikely to stand in Bamford's way of getting more first-team football under his belt, with manager Jose Mourinho understandably having the likes of Diego Costa and Loic Remy above the academy starlet in his pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Finally back to the Premier League and Stoke City are keen to agree new terms with veteran forward Peter Crouch, with the player's former club Queens Park Rangers thought to be interested in his services. Crouch's current deal at the Britannia Stadium will come to an end next summer but manager Mark Hughes is likely to begin talks with the player in the coming weeks.
