Man City are set to renew their interest in Everton midfielder Ross Barkley in 2015 after baulking at his 50m asking price this year.
The Guardian are reporting that City wanted to sign the England international this summer but were put off when the Toffees told them they would have to stump up 50million.
The 20-year-old went on to sign a new four-year contract with the Merseyside outfit, who are determined to keep hold of the academy graduate.
However, City are eager to boost their quota of home-grown players to meet Uefa regulations and hope an offer of 30million will be enough to persuade Everton to sell.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out allowing playmaker Isco to leave in January.
The Daily Star claim Arsenal and Liverpool had been ready to move for the Spain international in the next transfer window, with the 22-year-old's first-team chances hindered by James Rodriguez's summer arrival.
However, Ancelotti claims he will give Isco plenty of game time this term and doesn't want to part company with him.
While the Italian isn't ready to sell Isco, Marca claims Ancelotti has finally lost patience with goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
The World Cup winner has made a number of errors already this season and summer signing Keylor Navas is set to take his place in the side for Tuesday's game with Elche.
Arsenal have been linked with the 33-year-old and he could be on his way from the Bernabeu soon.
Finally on the Real Madrid front, and the Daily Mirror claim the European champions are still keen on signing Chelsea midfielder Ramires.
Los Blancos have been linked with the Brazilian before and are ready to offer 25million for the man Ancelotti signed for the Blues four years ago.
The Daily Star claim that Manchester United are ready to renew their interest in Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
The Red Devils were heavily linked with the Chilean during the summer and will try again to sign him in January as they ready an offer of 35million.
Finally and the Manchester Evening News are reporting that Manchester City will try and extend Frank Lampard's stay at the Etihad Stadium.
The former Chelsea man, who scored against his old club on Sunday, is on loan at City until January but manager Manuel Pellegrini wants him to extend his deal to compensate for Yaya Toure's absence.
Toure is set to part in the Africa Cup of Nations in January and, with Lampard's parent club New York City FC not starting their season until March, the champions are hopeful of keeping the 36-year-old.
