The Big Wednesday Multiple: From Paris to Berlin

Zlatan has five in five for PSG this season

It's that time of the week where Paul Robinson selects a home win, an away win, a match to go over 2.5 goals and a match to go under 2.5 goals. Here are his selections...

Bet 1: Mgladbach (HOME) @ 1.7 (7/10)

Borussia Monchengladbach have made a solid start to their campaign as after four Bundesliga games they are still unbeaten. While only one of those resulted in a victory, it was a pretty emphatic 4-1 win over Schalke in their last home match.

Last year's sixth place finish earned Lucien Favre's side a spot in this season's Europa League and that success was built mainly on their results at Borussia-Park as Die Fohlen won 11 of their 17 league fixtures in front of their own fans.

Opponents, Hamburg, have been in the doldrums for a while now and they only avoided relegation in a play off last term following a disappointing 16th place finish.

After beginning this season with two defeats and a draw - all without scoring a goal - the board had seen enough and dismissed manager, Mirko Slomka. Josef Zinnbauer was the man chosen to replace him and he got off to a great start by earning a 0-0 draw at home to champions, Bayern Munich.

I can't see a repeat of that here though and given their on-going struggles in front of goal, the hosts represent decent value.

Bet 2: PSG (AWAY) @ 1.53 (8/15)

Defending champions, PSG, have made a sluggish start to their season as they've drawn four of their opening six matches. They are still to lose, but their results certainly haven't been good enough for a team who were so dominant last year.

Laurent Blanc's men will come good sooner rather than later though as they possess so much quality. A trip to the newly promoted, Caen, shouldn't hold any fears for The Parisians and they will be keen to start racking up away victories - as they have been accustomed to doing in recent years.

A quick word on Caen though as while they only came up as the third best team in the second tier, the Normandy outfit have acquitted themselves with credit against the big boys.

Patrice Garande's side have picked up seven points from a possible 15, but it can't go unmentioned that all of those were earned on the road. In the two games they've played at home, they have been beaten 1-0 by both Lille and Rennes.

Bet 3: Hertha Berlin v Wolfsburg (Over 2.5 goals) @ 1.75 (3/4)

Hertha Berlin have played four Bundesliga games this season and they are yet to win. Scoring goals hasn't been the issue as with seven to their name, they are averaging nearly two per match. It's the defence that's been the problem as they've shipped 11 themselves, so it's no surprise then that all four of their outings have gone over 2.5 goals.

Even more appealing for this selection is that the quartet have actually gone over 3.5 goals, and even when they were tighter last term, their fixtures still averaged 2.59 goals each time - with 16 of the 34 having three or more.

Wolfsburg have managed to get at least one win under their belts this year but that didn't come until Sunday when they beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-1. That was some performance given the fact that they lost by the same scoreline at Goodison Park just three days before.

As you can probably tell, Dieter Hecking's men are usually involved in high-scoring affairs and that is highlighted by four of their last five in all competitions having gone over 2.5. It's also worth noting that last year, their matches averaged 3.32 goals per 90 minutes.

Bet 4: Nice v Lille (Under 2.5 goals) @ 1.5 (1/2)

Nice are 16th in Ligue One after collecting seven points from a possible 18 so far this season. That isn't exactly promising for a club who finished one place above the relegation zone last year and they could have done with an easier fixture that a clash against Lille.

It's the goal-side of things we're interested in though and while only two of their six have gone under 2.5 goals, tonight has all the makings of a low-scoring affair.

The visitors have had all 10 of their matches in all competitions finish with two goals or less this season and the hosts fixtures averaged a mere 1.95 goals per 90 minutes last year - which was only 'bettered' by today's opponents who had a 1.89 average.

The last three meetings between this pair have all ended with under three goals being scored and that sequence looks set to be extended.
