Against All Odds: It's raining goals in Argentina

Newell's Old Boys have made a decent start to their campaign as after half a dozen matches they are up in fifth place with 12 points. They even have a game in hand over all bar one of the teams above them and victory tonight would see the Rosario based club go second in the table.

La Lepra have been one of the more prolific sides in Argentina in recent seasons and that seems to be the case once again as they've netted nine thus far. Gustavo Raggio's men have conceded six at the other end so that means that their fixtures are averaging dead on 2.5 goals each time. Three of them have had three or more and that includes a 3-3 draw at home to Belgrano and a 3-2 win at Atletico Rafaela.

Olimpo are struggling at the bottom of the division but their plight isn't necessarily as bad as it seems. They have at least one -and in some cases two - games in hand over all their rivals and they are only five points adrift of the top half.

Nevertheless, this season is probably going to prove a long one for Walter Perazzo's side and they could really do with winning a few more games. They tend to draw too many and even just two or three extra victories would make all the difference.

As far as the goals go, their stats don't make quite as exciting reading as that of their counterparts as with just four scored and six conceded, their matches are only averaging two goals per 90 minutes. A couple of their five have gone over 2.5 though and this fixture last term finished 2-1.

The weather denied us a possible winner in Argentina yesterday but the only thing that it's going to be raining tonight is goals. That's why, with under 2.5 trading at around the 1.684/6 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
