Premier League on Betfair: Champions in shock 22/1 loss but Blues march on

There were goals galore as Costa and Fabregas ran the Everton backline ragged in an impressive 3-6 victory for Chelsea

Drama, goals, and shocks were in store on Saturday as Man City lost at home to Stoke, Man United failed to beat Burnley, and Chelsea scored six in a crazy game at Goodison Park. Mike Norman has today's In-Play odds details...

Manchester City were victims of one of the Premier League's biggest ever shocks as Stoke City - matched at 21.020/1 before the game and at 23.022/1 during it - triumphed 0-1 at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

Following a 100% start to the season, including Monday night's impressive 3-1 win over last season's runners-up Liverpool, the defending champions were expected to run out comfortable winners over the Potters and even started the game with Sergio Aguero in attack for the first time this term.

But Manuel Pellegrini's men were unable to breakdown a stubborn Stoke defence and were caught on the counter attack on the hour mark when former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf ran from inside his own half before slotting the ball between Joe Hart's legs.

Diouf was matched at 24.023/1 in the First Goalscorer market, and even though the home side threw the kitchen sink inside the closing minutes Mark Hughes' men hung on for a famous victory - the 0-1 Correct Score was matched at 55.054/1.

Title favourites Chelsea took full advantage of City's slip-up by beating Everton 3-6 in a stunning game at Goodison Park.

The Blues were two goals up inside just three minutes thanks to strikes from Diego Costa and defender Branislav Ivanovic. Costa - who was declared fit just hours before kick-off following reports that he could be out injured for a fortnight - was scoring his third goal in his third start for his new club and was matched at 7.87/1 to score first.

Everton were back in it just before the interval when Kevin Mirallas scored a great header to reward those who backed the 1-2 Half Time Score at 44.043/1.

But if the first 45 minutes at Goodison Park were exciting then the second half went goal crazy. The net rippled no fewer than six times as, amongst others, Costa got his second and Samuel Eto'o scored on his Toffees debut against his former club.

Both the Over 7.5 and Over 8.5 Goals markets saw huge odds matched, with backers being rewarded at prices upto 300.0299/1 and 650.0649/1 respectively.

In today's early kick-off Manchester United's poor start to the season continued with a 0-0 draw at newly promoted Burnley.

Despite having British record signing Angel Di Maria in their side along with such attacking talent as Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie the Red Devils created very few clear cut chances and had to settle for just their second point in three games.

The 0-0 Correct Score was matched at 15.5n/a with the Draw hitting a high of 5.59/2 In-Play.

Elsewhere today there were big prices matched as Newcastle and Crystal Palace played out a thoroughly entertaining 3-3 draw at St James' Park.

Palace - with Neil Warnock in charge for the first time in his second spell at the club - led twice before Newcastle fought back to lead 3-2 with just minutes remaining. But a last gasp equaliser from the Eagles rewarded those who backed the 3-3 draw at 170.0169/1 and the Over 5.5 Goals option at 34.033/1.

Swansea maintained their 100% start to the season by beating West Brom 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium. Garry Monk's men were matched at 23.022/1 to win by that scoreline and at 2.111/10 to win their third game in succession.

QPR (matched at 3.259/4 for the win) grabbed their first victory of the season by beating Sunderland 1-0 at Loftus Road, while Southampton (matched at 7.26/1) also got their first three points of the campaign by beating West Ham 1-3 at Upton Park.

After just three games of the season Chelsea are now trading at odds-on to win the Premier League, being available to back at 1.9110/11 on the Betfair Exchange. Man City can be backed at 4.03/1.
