It's been smooth sailing for Hobro in North Jutland
After a profitable week for Tobias Gourlay, the reins are handed back to his fellow globetrotter Kevin Hatchard, who takes us to Denmark for his first jaunt of the week.
Hobro v Vestsjaelland
Monday September 1st, 18:00
Danish Superliga
After what was no doubt a pleasant week in the company of our good friend Tobias Gourlay, who is now back in profit, I welcome you back on board the Hatchard Express. It hasn't got those fancy tables with the laptop charging points, or those ridiculously expensive but devilishly tasty pieces of shortbread, but hopefully it will have some winners.
We start this week's adventures in Denmark, and the Superliga. Newly-promoted Hobro have made a superb start to the season, winning three and losing just one of their five league games. The boys from North Jutland are second in the table, and the excellent home form that underpinned last season's promotion campaign has remained intact.
Hobro won 12 out of 16 home games last term, and this season they have beaten Brondby 2-0 and drawn 0-0 with Nordsjaelland. Both of those clubs would've been expected to pick up wins against the new boys, but a trip to Hobro Stadium is proving more daunting than people thought.
Seventh-placed Vestsjaelland have made a decent enough start to the campaign, but their poor road form from last season shows no signs of improving. Last term they drew 10 of their 17 away games in the Superliga, winning just three times on their travels. This term they have played two away games in the league, and lost them both. They haven't played particularly badly in either - they were 2-0 up at Nordsjaelland but lost 3-2, and conceded a 90th-minute winner in a 1-0 defeat at Randers - but they have failed to turn those good displays into points.
The market is split, with Hobro the slight favourites at 2.747/4, and the visitors trading at 2.915/8 for the win. Hobro have the momentum from last season's success, and they haven't been daunted by the challenge of the top flight. Given their strong home form, I'm happy to back Hobro Draw No Bet in a tight game at 1.9210/11.
