Against All Odds: GO is for Goals in Brazil

There's nothing like a night in Brazil and that's what Paul Robinson is treating us to today as he thinks that there will be goals when Atletico GO take on BOA.

Atletico GO v Boa
Tuesday September 2, 23:30 BST

Atletico GO have dropped down to 13th in the Brazilian Serie B following three straight defeats. They had been on a good run - five wins from six - but the wheels have come off of late and they need to regroup if they want to keep their chances of promotion alive.

The Goias based club have shipped an alarming 10 goals in their last trio of outings and that takes their total to 27 for the season. Hlio dos Anjos' side have at least netted the same amount at the other end though and that means that they're matches this year are averaging 2.84 goals each time - the third highest in the division. Three of their last four have gone over 2.5 as have four of their last six at home - including a pair of 4-2 scorelines.

Boa are currently in ninth place after picking up 27 points from their first 19 fixtures. After a shaky start that saw them win just two of 10 games - six defeats - the Varginha outfit have recorded six victories from their last nine matches.

As far as the goals go, Nedo Xavier's men have scored 26 goals and conceded the same this term to give their matches an average of 2.74 goals per 90 minutes. A total of 10 have gone over 2.5 - including seven of their last eight - and in their four most recent away trips, the scores have been 1-3, 2-2, 2-1 and 2-1.

Nearly all the stats are pointing towards goals, which makes the current odds very strange. That's why, with the price trading at around the 1.910/11 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
