Walsall's Ginger Mourinho has had little to smile about so far this season
Andrew Hughes thinks Colchester will earn a draw at Walsall on Saturday and help to land another cross-sport multiple in the process.
Bet 1: Back Colchester to draw with Walsall at 3.55/2
After five games apiece, neither of these League One sides have managed to get anything in the win column and Walsall are averaging less than a goal a game so the home fans could be in for a frustrating afternoon on Saturday.
Dean Smith's Walsall side have earned much praise for their attractive football over the last few months but after briefly threatening the play-offs in February, their form fell away and they have continued in the same vein this season, retaining plenty of possession, but looking ponderous in the final third, particularly at home.
Colchester won this fixture last year and whilst I can't see them repeating that feat, they are good value for a point against a Walsall side that has found the net just three times this campaign.
Bet 2: Back Lions to beat Blue Bulls at 1.618/13
Round five of the Currie Cup sees the Golden Lions head to Pretoria for an eminently winnable fixture against the lowly Blue Bulls.
The Bulls finished fifth of six in last year's competition and their form so far this season hasn't shown much improvement, their sole victory so far against the tournament whipping boys Eastern Province.
The only defeat so far for the Lions has come away from home against current leaders and favourites Western Province. They've scored 101 points against Eastern Province in two comfortable victories and they thrashed the Bulls 41-13 in their opening day victory. Saturday's score may be closer, but the outcome should be the same.
Bet 3: Back Roger Federer to beat Marin Cilic at 1.282/7
Both of Saturday's US Open semi-finals could be one-sided affairs and Roger Federer should have no difficulty reaching his seventh US Open final.
Marin Cilic looked impressive enough in disposing of an out-of-sorts Tomas Berdych in Thursday's quarter-final but he has a poor record against Federer, having won just two sets in their five meetings to date.
The five-times US Open champion had to dig deep against Gael Monfils in his last eight game but the enigmatic Frenchman can be a match for anyone on his day and having survived that test, Federer should find things easier against Cilic.
