Cristiano Ronaldo refuses to rule out Manchester United return

Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about his future and whilst he is happy in Madrid, a return to Manchester United would suit him as well. This and more in another edition of our transfer rumour round-up.

Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted he would welcome a return to Manchester United in the future.

The Real Madrid star and Ballon d'Or winner was speaking at a Tag Heuer promotional event when he made the admission.

However, he insists he is happy at the Bernabeu and plans to see out the remaining four years of his contract but he refused to rule out a return to United in the future.

In some more news involving the Old Trafford side they have been linked with a move for former midfielder Paul Pogba by the Daily Express.

Pogba left United when his contract came to an end in 2012 to join Juventus after making just a handful of appearances for the Premier League giants.

United have been linked with the Frenchman on a number of occasions since his exit and the latest reports suggest a 60million bid will be lodged next summer.

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini was the subject of late interest on transfer deadline day but the Italian remained at Anfield.

The arrival of Mario Balotelli has seen Borini fall further down the pecking order and a January exit looks likely, with the Daily Express suggesting Serie A side Inter Milan will try and snare the forward on loan.

Manchester City striker John Guidetti's immediate future remains unclear but he is prepared to wait until January to join Celtic.

The Swede had been set to move to the Glasgow giants on loan but failure to get the paperwork completed before 11pm deadline on Monday meant he could not seal his move.

The SFA have taken Celtic's case to FIFA in a bid to clear a move to Scotland but Guidetti, 22, has now told the Daily Record he will wait until January if necessary in order to secure a move to Celtic.

Arsenal spent heavily during the summer, but boss Arsene Wenger remains keen to strengthen his midfield in January, according to Caught Offside. The Gunners boss was linked with German pair Marco Reus and Sami Khedira throughout the summer but the midfielders ended up staying with their respective clubs.

Wenger is now reportedly ready to move for Borussia Dortmund's Reus and Real Madrid's Khedira in the January transfer window, but it remains to be seen as to whether deals can be done.

BVB have previously stressed that they are confident of keeping hold of Reus for the foreseeable future and Khedira could see plenty of action for Real this season following Xabi Alonso's exit.
