Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with Chelsea switch

Sometimes I look at these transfer rumours and just shake my head in disbelief but Cristiano Ronaldo to Chelsea? That as they say would be a genuine stunner. Alex Johnson looks it this and the other stories from around the media world.

Chelsea have set aside close to 60million to sign Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo in January, according to the Daily Express.

The Portugal international has been tipped to leave the Spanish club at the end of the season after comments made regarding the exits of Xabi Alonso and Angel di Maria this summer.

Ronaldo has always spoken of his desire to return to former side Manchester United but Chelsea are hoping they can steal in with a big money offer for the forward.

Jose Mourinho managed the Portuguese when in charge of Real Madrid and is said to be very keen on securing a deal in the upcoming January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged the club to tie Fabian Delph down to a long-term contract, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The midfielder has enjoyed a great start to the Premier League season and the former Leeds youngster earned his first England cap against Switzerland recently in the 2-0 victory.

There are a number of sides reportedly keeping a close eye on Delph as they prepare to make a move in January and Agbonlahor is hoping the club act quickly by offering the Englishman a lucrative contract before it is too late.

Sky Sports News are reporting that Italy winger Antonio Candreva could be set for an exit from Lazio in the next transfer window, with the Premier League trio of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham all interested.

The 27-year-old has been at the Serie A outfit for two years and has been an impressive performer, making close to 90 appearances and scoring over 20 goals.

Moving on and the same media outlet are reporting that Chris Wood is set to snub a move to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers in order to stay and fight for his place in the Leicester team.

The striker has been widely tipped to leave the Premier League club on loan for the season, but the New Zealand international is not keen on dropping down a level and wants to remain with the Foxes.

And finally, the Newcastle Chronicle are reporting that midfielder Jonas Gutierrez is seeking talks with the Magpies regarding his future after being frozen out of the first team.

The 31-year-old has not featured for Alan Pardew's side this season and spent the end of the last campaign on-loan at Norwich City.

Gutierrez still has one year left on his current deal at St James' Park but reports are suggesting the midfielder is looking to cut his time short with the club due to the lack of playing time.
