North American Tips: LA Galaxy to extend winning run

LA Galaxy are the MLS' form side right now by some distance

This is the bleakest part of the international break - the end bit with barely anything left to bet on - but the fixture list isn't completely bare...

Match Odds: Montreal Impact 5.95/1, LA Galaxy 1.654/6, The Draw 4.3100/30

Almost two years have passed since David Beckham left LA Galaxy, but they haven't stopped housing some of the MLS' most illustrious players, with Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane and USA centre back Omar Gonzalez still there. Donovan is retiring later this year though and his prospects of replicating Beckham's triumphant MLS Cup-lifting farewell have been boosted by a run of five successive wins.

The Galaxy have fired 19 goals in that sequence (homegrown prospect Gyasi Zardes netting four in the past two games alone to lift his season's tally to 14) so look delicious value at 1.654/6 to keep their streak alive against Montreal Impact, who have lost nine of their last 11 MLS fixtures.

Recommended Bet: Back LA Galaxy to win @ 1.654/6

New York Red Bulls v DC United

Match Odds: New York Red Bulls 1.728/11, DC United 5.49/2, The Draw 4.216/5

New York Red Bulls are strangely short-priced at 1.728/11 to defeat a side who have beaten them twice already in 2014 and are 13 points ahead of them at the top of the Eastern Conference. However, the lay is risky as the Red Bulls have been hot at home recently (four MLS wins in five) and DC United have been the opposite away (three MLS losses in five).

Instead, the outstanding punting option appears to be opposing both teams to score at 2.166/5 as that has been a feature of just one of their last six meetings. DC United have been shut out in three of their last five road trips and silenced their hosts in one of the other two.

Recommended Bet: Back both teams to score? No @ 2.166/5

Honduras v Guatemala

Match Odds: Honduras 2.285/4, Guatemala 3.55/2, The Draw 3.55/2

This is both nations' final group tie at the Copa Sudamericana and, because Guatemala overcame both El Salvador and Belize while Honduras lost to the former, the World Cup participants likely require a two-goal victory to top the group and progress to the final.

It is therefore surprising that Guatemala are judged the outsiders. They have won their four matches since August and this Honduras squad isn't even comparable to the one that exited the World Cup pointless, instead being comprised chiefly of home-based players. Indeed, with Guatemala notching in seven of their last eight halves, there is even a case for their half-time/full-time double at 6.411/2.

Recommended Bet: Back Guatemala to win @ 3.55/2
